While I will admit that Clark's in pretty dirty, and the waitstaff are less than helpful, I really do like their food. Where else can you go for awesome chocolate chip pancakes at 2am?? I'd give this place a 4 (out of 10), though you really need to try it out for yourself.

Being a musician who works very close to Clarke's, several of us have continued to give it a chance far past the point that we should have. What we've come to realize is that when you think something couldn't get worse, it does. The past three (and final) visits have been atrocious. The club music was playing so loud we couldn't talk to one another...at 3am! The place was dirty, and actually smelled of body odor due to the fact that they don't turn the air conditioning on at night. It was in the upper 80's and honestly was the most uncomfortable dining experience I've ever had. We asked the waitress about the air, and she told us that the manager was punishing them for something or other and wouldn't allow them to have it on...for weeks! Their prices are not cheap and the food is mediocre. There's no reason to recommend this place at all.

The waitress was totally prejudice and did not care to serve our party of eight. I throught we were past this stuff by now.

I could not have said it better myself. Surly staff, filthy facility and terrible food about sums up my experience. Definitely not worth the money. You Should NOT Eat HERE.

I can't imagine a less satisfying dining experience than the one I had at Clarke's. The service was atrocious, our particular waiter seeming as if he was pissed at us for ordering nothing more than coffees while he was being slammed with a just post two am business rush, and then not catering to our every expectation. I think that boy hates his life but why should he make me hate mine.

Stay away from Clarkes! It has the worst service and mediocre food at best! They showed their backside when I took an out-of-town friend there and the service was non-existent. Will NEVER go back. I'd rather eat at the IHOP on Halsted and Broadway.

Don't bother with this place. The prices are outrageous and the food is not very good. If you like to eat at dirty restaurants with overpriced nasty food, this is your joint. Spare yourself.

My boyfriend lives about a block away from this Clarke's, so we used to go there a lot because of the price and the convenience...therefore we'd been there over 20 times, before we decided that since we disliked the food and service, we really needed to find a new place. Truth is, the food at Clarke's is mediocre to bad, never above mediocre. I have never, in all of the times I have been there, had service that was anything but bad. Most times the waitress/waiter forgets at least a drink, but we've had entrees completely forgotten on multiple occasions. Getting the bill usually takes at last a half-hour after we're finished eating, and we once spent 2 hours in the restaurant, having ordered a slice of pie and a sandwich, just because the service was that slow. In fact, that was the evening that we agreed never to go back there no matter what.

I whole-heartedly agree with those who complain about the service. I'm a waitress, I don't comaplain unless necessary. WE WERE SAT AT A DIRTY TABLE!!! Need I say more, ay, but I will, the table was never cleaned, we drank water from the last people's water picther out of desperation and cleaned the table off with wet napkins we improvised!!! DON'T EVER GO HERE!!!!!!

IT'S A DINER IN THE "GOTH, INDIE, TRENDY, WHERE EVERYONE GOES IN CHICAGO TO GO PART OF TOWN", IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE NOT THE BEST RESTAURANT YOU HAVE EVER BEEN TO... DOES ANYONE COMPLAIN ABOUT DENNY'S, EXACTLY, IT'S GOOD FOOD FOR IT'S PRICE AND YES THE STAFF IS TOO BUSY THINKING ABOUT THEIR NEXT TATTOO TOO CARE, BUT YOU WERE AT THE BAR ALL NIGHT YOU JUST WANT A BURGER BEFORE YOU CRASH.
