I am assuming that I was at a different restaurant. The service was average, the chicken vesuvio was dry and tasteless, and the tiramisu was not well prepared. I was not inmpressed at all. Maybe this chef's steaks and other stuff is better but if this is any example; one is better off going to Olivetti's in Des Plaines where they KNOW how too make it right.

The Grotto is a long time favorite and Si the secret is out now..Great food, drinks and atmosphere...!

I would definately agree with Rob, the secrets out! The design and atmosphere that the lounge and resuturant creates is nothing less than, georgeous and indulgent. I can't wait to have dinner and drinks here again because it's my favorite spot in downtown goldcoast!

Gold coast locals looking for another spot other then Gibsons, try the Grotto on State,just across the street in the Newberry Plaza, excellent food(steaks chops, and much more), great service, and a beautiful lounge and dining room.

It seems like the secret is out! Some friends and I went to dinner at the Grotto, the food was terrific,the service, profesinal and friendly,and the place was extremlly busy. This will become one of my regular dining spots!
