My first introduction to raw food and it was amazing! I also attended a raw dessert demonstration that exceeded expectations. Definitely a unique Chicago experience.

Karyn is a walking, breathing inspiration of what I aspire to be. Attending her free seminar is a must for folks who are not familiar with living a good, healthy life naturally. I greatly benefited from her detox program even though I didn't follow it to the letter. Had I been a better student, I know for sure, the results would have been phenomenal. I like and respect Karyn a lot. She is a treasure and we are grateful that she chose Chicago as her home!

Karyn's is a gem for getting hard to find raw items like fresh coconut water and the supplement E3, etc. The cakes are beyond extraodinary and would please any "white sugar eatin' regular Joe", too. The selection of books is top-notch as well. However, I wish I didn't have to report that the staff is simply bizarre, some are just sullen, others seem to be in a daze and they don't talk much to the customers - where is the radiant, happy energy that raw foodists supposedly just ooze? When I see Karyn, the owner, she is a breath of fresh air, but she needs to either pay these people more and/or address the customer service issues. Additionallly, it routinely takes 10 minutes or more to pay with a credit card as they are always 'sending a fax'. With the high prices, isn't a second line perhaps warranted? With that being said, if you can ignore the Night of the Living Dead staff, and focus on the goodies, it still truly is worth the trip. But bring cash. And lots of it.

Amazing food!! The detox program is superb!! But everything is horribly overpriced!! The staff is often absent, or simply there just isn't enough of them to help. In fact, the staff can be grouchy which is bizarre..specifically, the manager (whom is a terror). However, i am drawn to this place because there is no other. Raw is a wonderful way of life. My suggestion is that you give it a try.

Karyin is a super gal. Food is top notch quality. Al fresco dining for the first time '04.

There's a raw salad bar with marinated vegetables that are out-of-this-world good (cheaper than the restaurant and take out possible). Fresh raw juices, yoga classes, soo good raw brownies, packaged raw foods. And tho' I'm not into rejuvelac (a cultered drink with yogurt benefits, non-dairy non-soy), a lady from Ohio says Karyn's is the best. Good bite.
