As an artist looking at a gallery I feel I can give an honest insider opinion. I have had shows and make it my business to explore as many galleries as possible. I found Linda to be very pleasant and friendly along with her personel. The selection of work exhibited was very sophisticated and the taste of her artistic pallete is very refined. I felt that she exhibits work that makes fresh contributions to the art community with an eye for cutting edge flavor. I liked everything about the gallery from her design choices outside and inside to the artist roster line up. This gallery is a must see and I would recomend her above all others. If this gallery were a hotel it would be a 5 star hotel on the same level as the Four Seasons with both elegance and style.

I just relocated to Chicago from NYC and have only begun to explore the city with purpose over the past few weeks. At the risk of sounding like a typical, transplanted East Coast snob, I never expected to find a gallery in the Mid-West that had the same cutting edge aesthetic of my favorite NYC galleries. Well, I was soon proven very wrong. I was very pleasantly surprised to encounter the Linda Warren Gallery during my travels. It is a great space with what I am told is a history of very strong shows.
The current show is called "Normal" and it is anything but with its disquieting cornucopia of iconography culled from the American cultural landscape and reframed in a context and in an excess that can be unnerving. Standouts include painter Peter Drake's sardonic yet quietly moving "Bleige", Carson Fox's effervescent installation "Garden of Artificial Bliss and Joy" and her unique, and equally vivid giclee prints and Jon Waldo's pseudo-psychedelic re-imaging of roadway hotel and fast-food signs. This is a gallery that I will visit over and over again. Linda Warren is doing something right in Chicago.
