While I had always enjoyed the cuisine at Puck’s restaurant in the Museum of Contemporary Art, I only went when my parents were in town to foot the bill. Not that the prices were outrageous, but any lunch that totals more than $8 is out of my student-loan slaving price range. It wasn’t until I popped by the MCA to see the new exhibition, Between Past and Future: New Photography and Video from China (very cool, by the way), that I noticed there is a very inexpensive Puck’s Express counter that serves gourmet sandwiches in my exact price range. For under just under $8, I had the most delectable chicken curried sandwich that I have ever tasted. The portion size was perfect, the staff was friendly and fast, and the café tables arranged in the south corner of the restaurant still provide you with the calm and seamless ambiance of Puck’s restaurant—with a much more appealing price for those of us who are on a tight budget.
NOTICE: This is NOT the OFFICIAL Puck's at the MCA website. These reviews are a forum for opinions about the venue that other Centerstage Chicago users may want to know, not to order merchandise, apply for a job, etc.
