I think that the location of this restaurant is what really makes it. I have to disagree with many of the previous reviews and say that I found the atmosphere kitschy and uncomfortable and thought that the food relied either on a high fat or sugar content for flavor. I have been a few times, hoping to find out what dish or dessert makes this spot popular, but to my dismay have yet to have a positive experience, or taste anything that didn't leave me sick to my stomach for several hours.

It is easy to see why this place is so popular. It is the food! The quality is outstanding and there are so many choices to keep you coming back.

I agree, if you bring your kids to a restaurant, it is your responsibility to keep them in line. Now, I've been to this place and had a bad service (indifferent and inattentive) – maybe my "dad" clothes tipped them off that I have kids. The food was just ok. This place is a safe haven for those trying to stay cool; mistakenly equating children with lameness. Bottom line: If you are afraid that families living in Andersonville are harshing your cool, then you should eat here.

I have yet to eat at your place but I can agree with your attempt to try and have parents control their kids. As a mother of two lil kids I dont take offense at all that you want to make your place comfortable for all. You know its the kids who are out of control whose parents are offended.

Bravo for you and your sign! Plus, it doesn't say kids are not allowed. Why do parents feel the need to try to rid the world of a few businesses like this when they have the whole world where kids are welcome? I only wish I lived in Chicago so I could support your business. I wish Florida would do this, also. I've read the recent article and the smarmy tone it had ($5.15 pricey for a coffee and muffin) Give me a break! Why is it all these journalists write that it's never their child that is the one misbehaving? Get a life, people. If you don't like the place, then leave and let the rest of us enjoy them.

I fully support your child-behave rule and will visit your establishment because of your stance. American parents have lost their sense of responsibility and are not held accountable for their children in this modern society. And people wonder why parents aren't respected and why school shootings happen... Stand tall and do not back down!!!!

I live in the neighborhood and tried the chocolate marshmallow cupcake today. It's VERY rich but definitely to die for... Regarding their behavior policy, the restaurant is small, so inapporpriate behavior is likely to impact everyone dining there. Have encountered several instances of children running rampant in stores lately, including at a Micro Center yesterday, where the dad clearly encouraged a game of Hide and Seek so that he could go focus on tech toys. Merchants need to post House Rules such as those at A Taste of Heaven and the "You break it, you take it" signs of yesteryear because, clearly, it still "takes a village"... So glad these folks are in my neck of the woods!

I commend your stand on the issue of children misbehaving in your restaurant. I will be traveling to Chicago in June and will definitely support your business while I am there.

I read the news story online and wish that more restuarants would follow your lead. To be able to go to a restuarant and enjoy yourself is hard to do in this day and age. My response to the mother that felt like she was being treated like a second grader, come on be a parent and keep your kids under control in public. Its not the kids fault, its the parents who are at fault. BIG Kudos to you for standing your ground!!!
