I've been a Y2K customer for about 5 years now. Their appetizers are all amazing. Really amazing. There are places around that can make certain appetizers slightly better (except their rangoon, it is the best outside of Chinatown and better then most places within) overall it is probably the best in the North side. Their sushi is fairly expensive but is better then most of the sushi houses in the neighborhood. The spicy tuna maki is especially good. The prices are also fairly low, and easily the cheapest in the immediate area if you consider the coupons that come with their takeout/carryout menus.

Their main courses, however, are fairly bland. While there are a few standouts (try their Mongolian Beef!) overall it is just exceptionally average and some dishes are flat out bland (avoid the chop suey), especially compared to their exceptional appetizers.

Overall though, I highly recommend it. The appetizers again are exceptional and there are a couple standout good dishes, but avoid the rest of the menu. The prices are very low for the area -- they could get away with charging much more and I would still come back.

This is great place and reasonably priced. I have always been pleased with everything I have ordered. Hightly recommended for a quicky meal or take-out

I have been going to Y2K for about 2 years. I would rate it as average, they have an interesting combination of Chinese and Japanese food. Consequently neither is exceptional, they are both average. The worst thing about it is the ... background music. They have played the same incessantly high pitched song for years and that is why I usually get the food to go.

The food though is OK, and I would definitely recommend you try it out, particularly if you want to have a meal with Chinese/Japanese elements combined.

I think this place is really neat. It's got an open kitchen, the decorating is tastefully kitschy, and the bubble teas are great! The food is really fresh, which is an underrated quality with Chinese food. My boyfriend and I had a feast here with 2 bubble teas, and a Mai Tai *complete with tiki glass* for about $27! I love this place.

I have been going to Y2K for 4 years now, being one of their first customers. I have -never- had a bad experience with their food, and always found the service and delivery to be exceptional. I can not recommend them enough! For menu items, I especially recommend their Empress Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Chow Fun noodles, Teriyaki appetizers, and their hot & sour soup. You won't be disappointed!
