The ambience was perfect when I went there for my boyfriend's birthday, but is also wonderful for going out with family or friends. The food was absolutely amazing - yes, it's kosher, but it's among the best food I've ever had, period - kosher or not. Try the Black Hat for dessert - you won't be disappointed. It's actually my favorite dessert of any restaurant I've ever been to! There's always so much food that I can't ever finish everything. Chefs Laura and Dennis are very friendly, as are the wait staff and Beth. I'm so glad Shallots moved closer to where I live.

The atmosphere was quaint, the waitstaff friendly and cordial, the portions (contrary to popular belief) were well above satisfactory. The food was tasty and filling, however the much heralded "Passion Fruit Martini" was a let down. Perhaps Grey Gooose or Ketel One should be used as opposed to the mediocre Absolut. Overall the dining experience was a positive one and recomended.
