I just returned from a wonderful lunch. With plenty of choices for sandwiches, pastas, salads, soups, and bakery items, I know I will be well-fed and my wallet well-stocked. A small, homey place with friendly, quick service makes you feel like you've stumbled upon your family kitchen. Remember to bring cash because they do not accept credit or debit cards, but with soft, delicious bread and savory fillings like this, I don't mind stopping by the ATM first.

Ham and Cheese is the best sandwich I've ever had, no lie. The banana bread is also off the freggin chains. I'm ordering right now. Panes is my favorite place to eat!

Pane's is my favorite place to take friends too. It's friendly vibe and delicious and cheap menu make it one of my favorite spots in Chicago. One downfall: CASH ONLY, but the monster cookies make up for it!

The "Super Panes Sandwich" is the best sandwich ever.

PANES is amazing. I would eat it everyday if I could but since I don't live in the area I eat is as frequently as possible. Its so good that I have someone who lives near there pick me up a sandwich if they are going to be passing my way. I am addicted. They are so fresh, healthy and tasty!! I can't say enough good things about it.

The best place for lunch or dinner. I gained about ten pounds when I discovered it. Try the Popular and tomato soup.

Honestly, best sandwich I've ever had. Ask for the Ham and Cheese, it's not always on the menu. I even had to speak with the owners, the husband brings style from Mexico and the wife brings style from France...perfect mix! Salute!
