One of the most beautiful courses in the southwest suburbs. You don't see that many par 75 golf courses and with 2 par 5's that exceed 600 yards. And the first time I played a par 3 with a "dogleg" (I should have used a 6 iron). Quite a challenge but filled with beautiful landscapes and more wild life than you can throw an acorn at!You may see some animals too.

If testing your mettle is what you want out of a course, this is where you need to be. Wide open fairways for the first 100 yards, but then the trouble starts. If you can't clear 145 yards off the tee (with one swing) you should still be okay on most holes. The holes you shouldn't use your driver on are #3, #6, and 17. These are short par threes and driver is too much club. Make sure to use matchboxes as ramps if an acorn is on the green around your ball. I do not suggest golfing on wednesday mornings. I have an early teetime every Wednesday and I play slow. Last time out 14 people asked me if they could play through. I said no to all of them. i have a crooked eyebrow.

I miss the days when acorns could live in peace. In a time in which they would not be judged by their shells. But by the content of their ability to navigate between a hammer and a sweaty palm. I love this course because it allows me to be free as buzzard. And lets not forget I love it because.. of my tremedous amount of respect for acorns. If you do not believer me.. check out my acorn ala meatball and pickel sammiches. My "god" bless you all.

acorns = vermin! i heard about this course from my third cousin's adopted nephew's step-son-in-law. this place is TEEMING with vermin and god forbid you get between a rodent an the acorn she's set her sights on! while i was relieving myself on the sixth hole, a pair of fat squirrels ate the nachos right outta my cart! i could hear the smacking and crunching but there wasn't much i could do. with an abundance of acorns, why go for my nachos?

vermin = birds of prey. also, beware of the hawks regularly swooping down and plucking snatching critters off the course! on the fourth hole, a peregrine falcon snatched my teacup chihuahua right outta my backpack!

be sure to visit the basement of the clubhouse where you can pick up some lovely mementos of your visit from a full service taxidermist shop!

since my visit, i haven't stopped itching.

Golly, this course really is the cat's meow! The winter overseeded bermuda fairways lent my 10 and 13 woods quite a helpful hand, as did the course manager when I got a little lost at the turn. It's like a family picnic atmosphere but still has the intensity of the special olympics that keeps me comming back each year. A little insider tip: Bring your own brown paper lunch sacks for the fall acorn harvest. Better to only eat a few during the round and take most of them home otherwise the rangers might cite you with a ticket and buzz those little kazoos during your backswing.
