Decent shop. I was surprised when the guy who worked there told me he didn't want me to call too often to look for specific albums. When I asked about leaving my name on a list he said "we dont wanna do anything like that". This is very dissapointing . The guy spent over an hour yapping on his cell phone but didn't have time to keep a want list or look for stuff if a customer calls? He told me I would have to just stop by to check. This was my 1st visit and probably my last. The owner seemed nice but her employee scared me away.

For those of you who do not know, Val will be closing her doors soon. I saw the article in our local newspaper but, perhaps in an attempt to deny it, I did not make note of the date or other details. Suffice it to say our town is losing one of it's precious touchstone small businesses that has helped make Oak Park what it is today.

I began patronizing Val's almost from the day she opened her doors. I still own almost all of the LP's that I bought there. Going to Val's Halla is a real nostalgia trip!
