cool but way too vegan friendly. . .never enough regular cookies and I tire of the loud obnoxious putatively hip music. . .
I think the coffee affects their music tast

I don't know what the talk over pretentious employees is all about. Every time I go there, the staff is like your typical neighborhood coffee shop staff. They clearly have signs saying to bus your own table, so if you're expecting to be waited on hand and foot, maybe you'll be disappointed. But for all the effort it takes to make a drink, put a muffin on a plate, and take your money, the Atomix folks are just fine, which is all they have to be. The quality of their coffee and the deliciousness of their vegan muffins and cookies and sometimes pie (oh my!) speak for themselves. Last weekend they had a day set aside for a Twin Peaks marathon, coffee and a slice of vegan pie for like $3. Beat that.
If you want hopeless cheer and perk with your mochaccino, stick with Starbucks or Caribou. But if you want a local place with good coffee and good food, where you can sit with a book and not have to decipher (or try to ignore) the financial district jargon of other patrons, then Atomix just might be the place for you.

the staff is rude and pretentious. if they mess up your order, they get mad at you for their own mistake. if you order a sandwich, make sure you have a half hour to spare waiting for them to stop talking to their friends and can deal with them rolling their eyes at you.
if it weren't for the ostentatious staff, the place would be good.
