1st Open: June'89. "New landlord won't renew lease": Sept'99. Similar press releases over the years. Most recently Jan '07 re: June'07 move. In conclusion: Legends was notified 10years/3months after opening, but is still there 9years/3months after their original "eviction notice". What's up?

I was at legends 01/10/08. Brother John was very good. Blues mixed with a little jazz and r&b. The sax player was very good. Then came the man, Buddy Guy. In my opinion one of the best BLUES guitarist that ever lived. At 71 years young, he hops around on and off the stage like he was 25. And his playing is like a woman better with age.

Actually, this is a question. We are going to be in Chicago coming from LA We have heard about a player named Stan Skibby, he is said to be extremely talented. I see he is booked at this club but in October. Anyone know of a venue he will be including in before October? And would love to hear others opinion of this musician.

I got seriously delayed in San Francisco en-route to Chicago last Thursday (26/7/07). So arrived in Chicago about 5 hours later than expected. Stayed in the Essex Inn. Went for a walk round the block around 11 p.m. Was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled across Buddy Guy's Legends Club just at the back of the hotel. Fantastic - Bryan Lee was playing and the bonus was that Buddy Guy played. Absolutely blown away! Best night of the tour!

Haven't been back there since about '98 but it the MECCA for blues lovers. I'm listening to Buddy live on Sirius right now and wishing I was about 500 miles closer to home.......oh well.

So what do you want to do? See celebrities hanging around? Be able to say "I saw Buddy Guy, he was standing right next to me, dude!"? Eat good food, or at least, what passes for good food in Chicago today? Be in a safe place, with safe parking, close to the Loop hotels? Legends is a great choice then.
Now you may wonder what does any of that have to do with Chicago's South Side blues. And the answer is, nothing. Nothing at all.

I was there Tuesday, August 1st for Buddy's 70th Birthday Party - IT WAS GREAT. The music was fabulous, including the man himself, along with a number of his friends who played as well. If you like Blues, and you're in Chicago, you HAVE to go to Buddy Guy's Legendds!

I visited Buddy Guy's in 2005 while in town for a convention. The food was fantastic--I'm coming back for the same convention in 2006. Buddy Guy's is at the top of my list for a return visit. Catfish Ettouffee - Yummy

I love the Blue's. Not the covers today..but the real blues that overwhelm you, intoxicate you. Legends offers that and more. The atmosphere, the people there, all contribute and help you lose yourself in the music.
