Food was sub par..in fact, bad, tasted like it was from 1932. Service was poor...would never go back

I am kind of a pizza fanatic, and this place has about the best thin crust italian style pizza I have had in a long time. It is worth driving out of your way to get some. My fav is the Spinach, Mushroom, and Fresh Garlic Pizza. Everytime I have been there, it has come out crisp and hot and darn near perfect. pair it with the Garden's Special Salad, and you have a great meal for two that will not break your bank. Get some of the house Pinot Noir which washes the Za down real good.

Washington Gardens is probably the finest family restaurant on the North Shore. We have never had a bad meal there, and we try to go there at least twice a month even though we live a couple of suburbs away.
This is the restaurant that I think of first when I come home after a long day and just want a nice dinner out. Nothing too fancy or expensive, but a solid, well prepared meal. The portions are generous and as fresh as could be. The drinks are generous as well.
Alex is a wonderful host who watches over his culinary baby like a mother hen over her brood. The waitstaff are personable to a fault.
The Shrimp de Jonghe is to die for, as is their soft shelled crab, when in season. Their lobster pasta dish is also outstanding. Don't pass up the Tirimasu or the Cannoli for dessert, as both are exquisite.
The food is simple Italian fare, but don't be fooled, as it is very well prepared and made from the freshest ingredients. You will never leave this restaurant hungry and you will find the tab more than reasonable for what you are getting.
