I tend to agree with Garrett. I have been going to G-Cue for about a year now. The prices are inline with any nice club, the food ie well above par for even a "fancy" restaurant. I have found the staff to be very helpful and the owners are always there to be sure things are just so.

My husband planned a surprise party for me at G-Cue and it was amazing. From the food to the atmosphere and the drinks. I will definitley be making it my hang out on the weekends.

i have been to g cue and i will never go back. it claims to be an upscale bar, its way overpriced.for no good reason at all. the service is terrible. the food is ok. the bartender is a 40+ year old bald man who doesnt know how to bartend or treat costumers. and aside from that, i wouldnt even get a glass of water. not even with my food, even when i approched the owner asking for a glass of water they refused to give me one, claiming they only sell bottles of water. not only that but the fountain drinks are charged per glass, no free refills. listen to me folks- DONT GO THERE

I disagree, G-Cue is not comparable to Mcgees in any manner. You seem to have developed a bias against sports bars; which is your perogative. When critiqueing this facility you are obiviously not an aficianado of chicago nightlife. G-CUE is not a sports bar, or the place to go if you want to drink out of plastic solo cups and do keg stands. So my suggestion is if you want a cool laid back place with a great vibe and sexy people go to G-Cue. Another added bonus is the owners daughter is the bartender, (one word comes to mind HOT!!!!) Finally if you have a problem spending $70 eating, drinking, and playing pool, stay at home and call it a blockbuster night, cheap ass.

G Cue seems to be suffering from a major identity crisis. They fancy themselves a lounge but it is basically McGee's with no price perspective. It was quite a disappointment. Everything we had read indicated that this was an upscale pool lounge. We looked forward to a nice interior and atmosphere. Don't be misled--this is just like any other bad sports bar. Very generic menu, very generic decor. Our boring bar food meals were just ok and appropriately priced ($8 sandwiches) and cocktails were reasonably priced as well ($7) but they managed to make up the difference in menu items that should be nominally priced. My husband's fountain sodas were $2 each and when we asked for water to go along with our drinks and meals, we were brought "house water" which was bottled and subsequently resulted in $2/bottle on our bill. The pool was also overpriced at $7/person/hour. An hour and half, basic sandwiches, and a couple of drinks later, we had spent $70. We would have much preferred a nice evening out a good restaurant. We will certainly not returned to this bad overpriced atmosphere.
NOTICE: This is NOT the OFFICIAL G-Cue Billiards website. These reviews are a forum for opinions about the venue that other Centerstage Chicago users may want to know, not to order merchandise, apply for a job, etc.
