    • Parking was very difficult (I parked two blocks away) and I didn’t see any valet service? • My wife and I (vegetarians) ordered the penne and cous cous from the limited non-meat items. The penne was 80% sauce, 20% noodles and the cous cous was very unpleasant – we did not eat it. It was overwhelmed by floral smells and mint and generally was very unappetizing.? • When we first entered, a table for 17 was being prepared so out server asked that we hurry up and order so that those preparations could continue and that the kitchen could be cleared for the larger party. Needless to say, this was rude and unnecessary.? • The bathroom is inconveniently located in the back of the kitchen and not very nice generally. I did not appreciate having to walk through the kitchen (and its not surprisingly dirty floor) to get to a dark, step down, cramped bathroom.? • The prices are much higher than the quality of the food and surroundings justify.? • We had occasion to chat with the chef (and presumably the owner, as well) before leaving as two of our guests are from France. It was obvious that he had just finished smoking as the smell was all about him (and thus us). This only added to the generally unappetizing feeling I left with.

I feel that the money we spent here was totally wasted. I contacted the restaurant with the issues above but never heard from them – of course.

After reading all of the rave reviews of this place, I checked it out with a friend of mine. I was sorely disappointed. Everything is overpriced and despite what descriptions say, Rick's does not serve tapas. It seemed to mostly be Italian, with some French mixed in. My steak and potatoes were pretty good, but not worth the $24. Rick's also doesn't make it any easier to come back with the ridiculous $4 per person corkage fee and the fact that you cannot split your check on 2 credit cards. This place is extremely disappointing and I would never recommend or visit it again. Your money is spent better elsewhere.

This is far and away our favorite BYOB restaurant, and very near the top among all restaurants. Superb food, charming staff. We love the atmosphere indoors and al fresco.

Rick's is absolutely great! But, make sure you have plenty of time for a nice leisurely dinner. The service is a little on the slow side...

If you're looking for a nice romantic dinner...go to Rick's. Atmosphere was cozy with a European accent and friendly waitstaff. Food was out of this world (seafood crepes, veal and escargot). Though it's BYOB, be prepared for a $4 corkage fee/person and a casual pace to dinner.
