Excellent plate lunch, probably the most authentic in the Chicago area. The BBQ beef is my favorite, served with two scoops of nicely sticky rice and a basic but very ono mac salad (as it should be). The curry sauce is just the right level of spice. My girlfriend swears by their grilled mahi mahi. Portagee sausage fans should note that, while it doesn't appear on their printed menu, they usually have it available. My only would complaints would be in reference to their saimin (one of my favorite dishes). While not bad, it's not very authentic. The broth tastes like it's beef based rather than the more authentic bonito or shrimp based broth. Also, no kamaboko or green onions! Plus, a nice meat option would be some char siu pork besides the available BBQ beef, chicken, or spam (char siu saimin, dat's my favorite!). Lastly, while it may go beyond the scope of this restaurant, I'd love to see some local style pupu available, especially some manapua or pork hash. Overall, a great place and a nice break from the ordinary.

BEWARE! This place looks like it MIGHT have decent food, YET, you will recieve greasy chicken. The "MAC" salad is nothing special. Save your money and go up the street! I couldn't even eat the combo meal because it tasted and looked so disgusting!!!! It's not 4 forks!

A delicious restaurant in Lincoln Park. You can't beat the prices, and the chicken is barbequed perfectly and delicious. They've really got it down -- two scoops of rice. I live near the restaurant and I give it my thumbs up!

Yay! Finally a place to get a plate lunch in chicago! The katsu is super ono. The kahlua pork needs some work-- there's a fake smoke taste to it. The potato salad is great too
