Orgasmic culinary experience awaits you. Trust Sushi Mike explicitly and be prepared for an addiction like no other! I can't wait to dine there again!

If you eat here, don't bother with the menu, just ask for 'Mike's creation' or, as it is traditionally called 'Omakase'.
His creations are outrageously good (rice paper rolls with bluefin, escolar, kiwis, truffle oil and mustard seed vinnegrette.) His rolls have a great balance of rice to fish and he has some pretty inventive items (Sushi Nacho's anyone?)
It isn't traditional sushi (which focuses on the flavor / freshness of the fish.) Sushi purists may not find this place as appealing as most. I would recommend sitting at the bar and coming early / weeknights. By 8:30 PM on a Wednesday they were slammed and table service was in the weeds.
For a BYO it seemed pricy. 4 rolls cost us nearly $100 with tip + corkage - to be fair, we were absolutely stuffed! (Nobu would cost at least three times more)
Bottom line - Sushi Mike has great chops and Tanoshii is absolutely his restaurant (he lets you know just how great he is too.) Its cult status means always busy - get reservations for the sushi bar. Highly recommended - My wife and I are 'Joining the cult of Sushi Mike'

Waitstaff and sushi chefs are very friendly. They have the best calamari, lightly breaded, in a vinegarette sauce. Proportions are enough for leftovers and prices are rightous. The staff is very welcoming although the place is kind of small.

I went last night and left very disappointed. Good thing that Mike has a roll gaurentee, he sent one that my friend couldn't eat. We told them exactly what ingredient to leave out and the next roll featured it again. We sent back the second roll and finally the third came. But it had been 30 minutes since my one roll was delivered and the waitress never returned. We had to go and get the check and sat with empty water glasses for nearly 20 minutes.
Yes the food I had was amazing (Fish & Chips) but the service was terrible. I'm going to give him one more chance, but am not expecting to join the Cult of Sushi Mike.

Mike is very full of himself and seems to have a number of devote patrons who regularly bring him Blue Moon as a tip. We put our dining experience in his hands which is a great way to get something different that you would not order on your own but my wife and I felt the rolls were skimpy on the fish and drowned in sauces.

I've never had anything but fresh fish. Service can be awful -- they desperately need a floor manager. Weekend crowds are intense, making things worse. Go on a weekday and sit at the sushi bar, andput yourself in MIke's hands for an unforgettable sushi experience. It's the only way to go.
