I have always been torn with this place. Loved the idea about it, but the prices and the selection have always left something to be desired. Friendly staff and amazing flowers always kept my business.
And finally EUREEEKA, W GROCER! They offer the same artisan, locally sourced cheese as Spring! They have a full deli with made to order sandwiches...yum. The extensive beer and wine selection is just as amazing.
Olivias you will forever have my flower money...w grocer, u can have the rest

olivia's market is a great neighborhood store. while everyone seems to gripe about the price, the employees are amazingly helpful and always seem genuinely happy, and by paying a little extra here and there you're supporting a local, non-corporate, independent store, which quite honestly is a dying breed. I don't want a store that has everything i need to buy in it, that is creepy and totally unnecessary - we don't live in the burbs, guys. But, for day to day grocery needs, i'm pretty satisfied. They have really awesome hot soups to go, a good deli section with a good selection of specialty salamis and even carry my favorite kind of cat food. My only gripe with Olivia's is their cheese section - they have an amazing selection, but they're all pre-cut and wrapped in plastic. i prefer to buy specialty cheeses that are freshly cut and to the size that i want. also, i once bought a piece of parmesan there that had been wrapped for too long and tasted like plastic.

it is definitely not the place to do your weekly shopping unless of course your income bracket is well over $60,000 a year. olivia's is gourmet and organic thus it isnt very practical for stocking up. i love their homemade soups and the staff is lovely.until we get a reasonably priced market in the neighborhood within walking distance, ill keep going. sure wicker park has become the next lincoln park but not all of us can afford these rates on a regular basis. they should try to come down on price on the basic necessities.

I've given up on big box grocery store chains - everything I need is at Olivias! A great selection of ethnic foods as well as organic varieties and comfort food favorites. The Boars Head deli offerings are fabulous, and it's so well kept. Super friendly people too! I discovered my latest favorite wine by the staff's suggestion.

Totally disagree with you, Jon. I do lots of weekly shopping here, especially wine. They have a great wine selection and I've never paid for more than $14.

Good selection for the size of store it is, but some items are waaaayyyy over priced - especially the alcohol. I don't recommend doing your weekly shopping here, but if you just need one thing...

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place. In my opinion, it's quickly become the gem of the neighborhood. They always seem to have everything I need and if they don't, they make a special effort to get it for me!! The vibe is great and everyone is always super friendly.

Every neighborhood should have an Olivia's Market. All of their offerings are great - the best are these chocolates from Sarah's Pastries and Candies, a local pastry chef. They are the best chocolates I've ever had!!!

Nice neighborhood market - finally! with the essentials and a nice offering of the unique and healthy. Prices are not entirely over market. Pretty, but expensive, flowers.
