i'm from Detroit and stopped into Dollup while on a trip to Chicago to do a little mural painting for a pizza shop in wrigleyville. i loved Dollop! both the coffee and the atmosphere were amazing. But i was wondering if i could find out from anyone, who did the watercolor & ink paintings i saw hanging in there. i think there were 2. i asked a while back but forgot what the man told me. Angel or angela? help me out! they were awesome and i need one for my house :)

Love DOLLOP, it better than Starbucks for sure. Very intimate place to read, chat, study and eat. The employer are very down to earth people. Besides, it is free internet connectivity with no limitation unlike Starbucks-who wants to make a profit out of everything...where is there customer service? Dollop makes you feel at home. Regards!

This coffee shop is comfortable, quiet, spacious, friendly and has delicious beverages and eats! It has added a lot to my neighborhood in the last year or so that it has been open. The lighting is wonderful, the staff is friendly, the food is DELICIOUS and often organic/all-natural. The customers seem to have a lot of respect for one another so it is VERY rare that you hear loud chatting on cell phones or overly-loud conversations between people. I love Dollop!!!!!

Pros: Drinks, food, staff, atmosphere-- everything!

what a great place! it seems like a year or more since last time i was at dollop, and i'm glad to see how much it's improved. cleaner, brighter, and the coffee tastes just as divine as i remember. this place is definitely - and is likely to remain as - one of my favorite chicago spots. for years to come...

Dollop well yesterday my friend and I went to check it out. First turn off was the ROACH in the middle area. Sure it is a cute place if you don't mind sitting with ROACHES CRAWLING AROUND YOU while you chat w/friends, read a book, work online... Then the TOP TURN OFF came when I went to look at my bank statement online today! The girl scanned my card twice the first time for the correct amount and the second time for a much larger amount! I wouldn't go back...plenty of other cute neighborhood spots in the area.

If your objective is to support local shops, and get most all of what you would want from a coffee shop, Dollop is it. IF you go there 5 times or so, it starts to feel like your home. There is seating for about 40, so a dozen people can comfortably work half the day there and casual patrons don't need to feel crowded. They have fresh and light indi carbonated drink for a change, and of course great coffee. Open till 11 most nights I believe. A living room away from home.

Dollop is one of my favorite places to go online, read, chat, and study. The Hoosier Mama pies and pastries are the bomb. Seeing as change is the only constant thing in life, Dollop epitomizes this and in terms of decor, there is never a dull moment. The coffee space doubles as the temporary home for paintings by local artists and the rearrangements of tables and couches keep the movement alive.
