Wonderful!! One of our friends was in town visiting for a few weeks and being of Puerto Rican decent she was itching to find something that would remind her of family. We found it. There was music playing in the background, (with a traditional latin/caribbean flare). The food was excellent. The jibarito superb!!. A vey comfortable a laid back atmosphere. I read other reviews that weren't as complimentary so I wanted to make sure I set the record straight. Straight forward traditional dishes. We were proud to show-off this part of Chicago to our friend. She was very impressed.

The food is great and worth the wait. If you want to try something different; than El Borinquen should be your next stop.

Excellent!! Highly recommended. Authentic, small & simple dining area, but unbelievably wonderful food - well worth the drive from the burbs. The cost was amazing - party of 4, dinners w/appetizers was $49.00 - can't beat that (BYOB too). We'll difinitely be back!
