WORST PLACE IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!My husband and I love to eat out. In the five years in CHicago, we have tried over half the restaurants. Normally, if we don't like a place, we just won't go back. I have NEVER felt the need to actually go online and make sure the whole world knows how bad a place is. Maza was a horrible experience. The sad thing is that we took four guests with us. We got completely ripped off as well. I will have to settle that part with our horrible waiter, who is also the owner in this case! Do yourselves a favor. If you want middle eastern cuisine, go to Reza's, or anywhere else, unless you want to spend a lot of money to be treated terribly!!!

After dinner, I mentioned I had a gift certificate and our server/ the owner yelled that it's only for 4 or more. The certificate doesn't say this. I offered to order another entree, but he kept yelling, "No!" over and over. I wouldn't treat another human being so rudely, let alone a paying, new customer. I was humiliated and just asked if we could have the bill. We waited while the whole restaurant sat in unease. He took the gift certificate off, but we had to pay ($60+ after the gift certificate) in cash, with gratuity (though I was close to tears, we tipped.) Not enough cash for a tip, so my boyfriend had to run across the street (while the owner waited and could've offered to let us use a credit card anytime). Our experience at Maza ruined our day. The lamb was overcooked, gray and tough and everything was salty & vinegary.I will never go back and not only will I not recommend Maza, but I will warn against coming and having such a traumatic, awful experience.

I drove from Milwaukee to dine in this restaurant after recommendations, but I felt very sorry to even try it. We waited for half an hour to get the menus, didn't bring what we ordered after waiting more than 3 hours to eat. The manager was the waiter, the cook, and I am sure the dish washer as well. The food was awful. I couldn't eat it. Service was terrible (no service). I will never go back there again. You will get better service and food at Mc Donald's.

Awful restaurant and very bad service. I would never eat at this restaurant again. We got the food after 3 hours of waiting. I left at the end and so many people left their tables because they did not get their food. Very impolite manager, do not look at other people rating. This place doesn't even worth of try.

Do not ever try to eat at this restaurant. You order the food and it takes forever to get it. Even when you get it after 5 hours seriously, the food may take up to 5 hours and turns to be not good at the end. The restaurant is losing its reputation because of its service and management. Don't ever invite someone there, you will definitely be embarrassed.

I have been dining at Maza since 2000, and have always enjoyed my experience... Joe is an amazing host and serves up some of the most delicious food one could ever hope for! Being a vegetarian, I am still able to get a very satisfying meal amidst the many meat dishes. I've taken many friends and everyone is always thrilled!

Maza is my prime spot for awesome RAW KIBBEH. It is hard to find a place that has raw kibbeh on the menu that you do not have to call ahead 24 hours. It is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. The food is authentic and delicious, and the menu simple. The only criticisms I have is that its a bit dark at night, service is average, and the environment is only ok to me. The room feels a bit cramped and the entrance is kind of awkward. But, in terms of great lebanese food, I highly recommend it.

I visited this place last week and it was absolutely amazing. The service is great, the food unbeliavable good and the environment really nice. I recommend this restaurant to every single person who wants to try the best baba-ganouj and hoummus of the Chicago area.

MAZA is the BEST restaurant I've been to in 5 years! The food was exceptional. The carrot soup was outstanding! The service was very good. I liked the relaxed atmosphere. They did not rush us between courses. It is a small restaurant seating about 50. The owner came out and made sure everyting was as expected. We definately will go back! The eggplant appetizer was sooo good!

The praise heaped on this restaurant stuns me. The food at Maza is average (I'd take Reza's, Andie's, Noon-O-Kabob or Pita Inn over it any day.), and only eclipsed by the poor service we received there. We arrived at our reservation time, but ended up waiting 45 minutes for a table anyway. After a half hour, the host gave us two complimentary glasses of wine to placate us, but it didn't do much to ease our frustration at having watched other, larger parties get seated before us. Our server was impolite, inattentive and impatient. If you do go and want to use a credit card, be sure to spend at least $20; my friend had a bill of about $19.75 and they flat-out refused to let her charge it.
