Its cheaper than starbucks but you get what you pay for and in this case its crap. I ordered two flavored coffees and they were both weak, watered down and it was like there was no flavoring added. Guess thats how you make a profit...give the customer colored water. Service was slow and the guy at the counter was a rude. Furnishings were ok but seating was awkward and very dark inside. Maybe saving $$$ on electric. Tried it three times, just figuring it may have been a fluke or bad day. All three times proved to be a problem. The second try had more flavor than the first but not by much but the bigger problem was it was not what I ordered. The third time, I advised the problems I was experiencing to the owner or manager ( an asian guy) figuring I would get the best. Instead I got the most rude attitude from the manager so I walked out and will not return. After three strikes, you are out! I will not return. Remember all of you that still wish to venture there....goodluck, but you will be sorry you wasted your money.

If not for The Brothers K Coffee House I'd probably still be drinking the fetid corporate poisen dispensed by the androids at Starbucks. I was actually beginning to grow a tail. Now, I'm healthy, happy and I wag my tail proudly whenever I see the Kim brothers behind the counter.

My favorite coffee shop. I usually get just a bagel and coffee, but they have specialty coffee drinks, desserts, soups, light lunch fare. They're one block from a Starbucks that I haven't visited in a year, and that should tell you something.

I have been coming to this cafe for years, even before brothers K. It is a really great community place, but they really need to clean the bathrooms!!!!

I just moved to Evanston and already I've found my home away from home, the Brothers K Coffeehouse is the kind of place I could relax at all day long. The excellent drinks, great food and warm service keep bringing me back.

Every morning I walk into Cafe Express and can't wait to get that first sip of hot Metropolis coffee and my first bite of the absolutely best blueberry scone I have ever tasted.
I can't wait to enjoy the tables outside on the weekends, and maybe I'll finally have an espresso and that beautiful Chocolate Toffee Scone that I have been eyeing all week!

In a world where anonymity seems to rule, walking into a corner cafe where "everybody knows your name" makes Evanston feel more smallish, just that much more friendly. John and Brian Kim have brought a sense of hominess, friendliness, and excellent food and drink to 500 Main Street-- not to mention a crack staff of Cafe Express coffee slingers (tall Luke B looks imposing, but he's a kitten. Ask him about Atonement or the last good book he read, you'll see). I love it, my family loves it, my students love it-- Cafe Express is the best!

Cheers on Main Street. This corner haven on Main Street in Evanston delivers sanctuary and Seattle worthy coffee. As a proclaimed coffee snob, on the hunt for authenticity and good coffee, I was thrilled with the Brothers Kim came to town and revamped this old haunt. Finding this sweet haven is like discovering a hidden treasure in a small European City, an off-the-map cafe that Bill Bryson would say is a must-go place when traveling abroad.
