What a dump! I used to be a regular there, and I will never step foot in there again. The operation has gotten very shady. I think the guy running the place used to be a security guard at a strip club, and thats the mentality he has. Carol, the owner, is sweet but this guy she hired has absolutely NO idea how to run a business. Do yourself a HUGE favor and go somewhere else.

This experience was awful. Although the piano player was excellent and the atmosphere was fun, the wait staff utterly destroyed the experience for us. I was with a group that ordered several drinks, and we waited for a table to open up. We finally did get a table, but within 15 minutes (with drinks still in hand) were asked to give up our seats because we weren't ordering fast enough. I had paid $5 for tap water, and others in the group had paid $4+ for soda, after we had already paid for alcoholic drinks as well. We would have been happy to order more drinks after we finished the ones we had, but that did not seem quick enough for the wait staff. It was so disappointing that an experience that could have been so great, was ruined by the awful service we received. I will never go back.

This was a horrible bar. The servers were rude and the drinks were incredibly overpriced ($10 for a rail rum and coke). With all the fun places available downtown I would strongly recommend that people avoid tourist traps like this.

The other day I was in Grape Street and I over heard the bartender talking about the Carter family and the Four Tops! Some of my favorite Motown music. I inquired further and found out that the Four Tops and some other Motown singers are going to be in tonight! I loved the place and will definitely be there tonight.

This place is definitely the coolest piano bar in Chicago. My friends and I were looking for a different bar when we stumbled in grape Street piano bar. We arrived at9PM and left at 3 a.m. this place was off the hook. The drinks were awesome, and the guy playing the piano. I think his name was Arturo was absolutely awesome. My friends and I felt like we were in the movie Goodfellas this place gives off such a warm and inviting feeling. I couldn't believe how nice the staff was after a couple of hours one of the owners came up to us and bought us a drink. We couldn't believe how nice everybody was. We must have been to four or five nightclubs during our stay and the best time we had was that grape Street piano bar. We will definitely be back next year party on the little lady called Carol, is the owner asked for her. She will hook you up

As soon as my friend Walter and I entered The Grape Street and Vine we knew we just stumbled into some fun. Carol the owner told us that she loved Canadians, especially 24 year old ones. This family bar has the class and warmth that we were searching for in downtown Chicago. Don't let the small front enterance fool you- this bar was packed with all sorts of trendy 30,40,50 and 60 something year olds. Low lights and not many seats ensure you will be talking on your feet all night to people standing beside you. (sometimes on top of your feet)
This piano martini lounge brings in more folks then the two other piano bars just up the street even though you could stretch out your arms and almost touch both side walls.
Within two hours you will almost know the first name and origin of every person in the bar.
When staying in the Downtown Chicago area, Grape Street and Vine should be a definate stop for your party if you seek class and elegance on your next outing.
