one word to describe "FANTASTIC" . They have a terrific selection and I go there strictly for oysters they are monsters . Great Chilean Sea Bass it's like milk and butter, their African Jumbo Shrimp is the size of Lobsters. I cannot emphasize that they are great. Ask for Juan he is such a great help in choosing out what you may need.

This place is so great. I went there twice in one week. Their seafood is so fresh, it will blow your mind. FRESH, FRESH, FRESH!!!!

I am an upcoming chef and have to say that I have never found a better place to buy fresh fish & seafood than Isaacsons. Sure, it doesn't look like Whole Foods -- get ready to go in wearing some old clothes...this is an AUTHENTIC fish monger that sells to restaurants all over the city. An absolute must if you live in Chicago! Everything available from Chilean Sea Bass to crab and lobster.

Best fish market in Chicago. The only place to find fresh Mediterranean fish (for Italians: spigole e orate di allevamento ma freschissime!) that I miss so much, as an Italian fisherman. The place inside is not fancy and clean, but who cares?! The people are nice and helpful, they even give me their beautiful 2008 calendar as a present. I always also get fresh mussels to make a great pasta and fresh calamari. But there is much much more. Just enter there and grab two gloves and many bags to pick your favorite fish. After you pay you can have the fish cleaned for free. You can pay with cash or credit card. I love this place!

WOW! Great variety and prices are lower than any local place i have been to Quality and freshness are wonderful. A bit of a drive and the hours are odd but worth it.

Oh My! They have the Best quality and selection of seafood, you can't bet the price (i dare you). Randolph market Renaissance, minus the post refrigeration issues. Really, I'm not that old..
Don't be shy, come in, grab a bag, get two gloves, pick and bag your fish, then pay for it. They will then fillet your fish if you'd like, for free.
This place came recommended by a Caterer I met while in Sam’s club. After speaking with him for a few minutes we swapped favorite fishery info. His referral far exceeded my recommendation and my expectations. You don’t find places like this any more in the city.

Being an East Coaster, I am a fish snob and had resigned myself to never have fish again in the mid-west. This place changed my mind. Yeah, it is not cheap and, yeah, they do not normally service retail customers so their customer service is not the mildest but, hell, where else you going to find fish this fresh and most every variety in stock? I love this place.

Absolute poor service. Was told off by the Filipino guy behind counter when I handed him my receipt: he said I should tell him cash or charge next time.

Great selection. Many not available in other markets. Be prepared to spend more than you planned on.
