I love crispy fish. It must be moist, juicy and lemony. I must eat crispy fish 3x day! I only go to get my crispy, succulent & lemony fish at Dicola's Seafood on Western Ave., Chicago. Oh, as if the seafood weren't enough...they make scrumptious cheese & tomato bread too!

I have been shopping for christmas shrimp at dicolas for years, as did my mother before me. this year i purchased shrimp the day before christmas eve. i was the first customer in the shop and there was some shrimp already in the case. i'm sure it was from the day before because that was the shrimp i was given. i bought 4 lbs at $17.00 a lb. i didn't open it until right before i was about to serve and the smell was so bad we had to throw it away right then. it not only smelled but it was slimy. it obviously was old shrimp. it was a disaster to my party as it was a large item that i serve but i'm afraid people would have gotten sick if they ate it.

been going to dicola's every new years eve for 22 years,

always buy 3 huge tails some shrimp, cocktail and a 1# of fried to eat on the way home.

they are the best, food is fresh and priced right, only downside, is the drive. we moved 5 years ago and have to make a 40 mile trek just to get there. plus to that is i get a 1/2 # of scallops to go with the shrimp, eating them while driving home.

23 days and i will be heading back, mouth is just watering waiting to taste the bounty of the sea.

They have excellent seafood and unlike the Details tab says, they do offer variety in their fresh fish section. Just depends on what time of year you're going there.

I've been going to Dicola's for years, and in my honest opinion Dicola's has the best seafood I have ever eaten. My mother turned me on to it sometime ago. I've gone to other resturants and eaten their seafood and I always come back to Dicola's. My favorite seafood at Dicola's I would have to say is the fried Catfish Steaks and the Jumbo Shrimps. I have had the Smelts, Perch and buffalo and they are very tasty also. The sides are great too,Cole Slaw, Potato salad and Breads. The other thing I like about Dicola's is that they are consistent, the food always tastes the same to me everytime I go and I can have it fried anyway I like it.
