Went to Bel Ami with some friends while visiting Chicago thinking that we could get some taste of home food but were very disapointed. They make the worst chevapi in the whole world. They actualy ruin the reputation of boisnian cousine. Chevapi are supposed to be be juicy and soft and have slight garlic taste unlike what they serve, and the pida bread (Lepina) is supposed to be soaked, soft and fresh. The whole entré was very dry and you could choke on it. Tasteless. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy for food. They are not qualified to serve bosnian food. Hope it gets better with time. Nice and clean otherwise.

Bel-Ami is a tri-weekly get away. A cappuccino, mineral water and cigarette. I don't eat there but have fun with friends. So many people fill the cafe in the summer outside on the patio.

If you are looking for an authentic Bosnian meal experience this restaurant will not meet your expectations. I would call the food and my chevapi order Ameri-Bosnian. 1. Chevapi tasted more like any other breakfast meat sausage. Lacked authentic Bosnian aroma. 2. It came with fries and no lepina. 3. It barely satisfies ones nostalgia. 4. The restaurant could have played some Bosnian music to enhance the ambiance.
