Ohh my God! I grew up in this neighborhood and even though Im not Puertorican the Jibarito reminded me of home. My hubbie is PR and it brought a tear to his eyes when he tasted the lechon (BBQ pulled pork)and the Arroz con abichuelas (The rice and Chick peas) My godmother use to make some just like the kind served at Borinquen. Try the mofongo if you are adventurous. As for me, my hubbie and my two boys the food is a great substitute for flying to Florida and visiting my in-laws for the taste of this great food.
