Excellent. From the service to the food. We didn't plan on Ballo, but glad we found it. Can't wait to return.

I had a wonderful experience. I went here last night with two friends, one was celebrating a birthday. The staff was very helpful with surprising my friend during dessert time. Our server, Michael was the best, he was very attentive, and funny. The chef also came out and talked to us which was very nice. The atmosphere was great and The food was wonderful, you need to try this place, because once you do you will want to keep coming back. When you go ask for Michael to be your server, I will be going back.

A thoroughly delightful experience. The restaurant was very busy. As middle aged diners, we enjoyed the laughter and festive atmosphere. Our waiter was very busy, but other staff people were happy to help out if our waiter was unavailable. The food was great...especially the meatballs. We will certainly go back next time we are in Chicago.

A group of 8 of us were disappointed in the service. It was so loud, we could not hear each other and the music they played in the background added to our discomfort. Between the appetizer and entree, we had to wait 40 minutes (with the waiter telling us it was coming right up in a minute). The food was good but none of us would care to return.

Had a wonderful dining experience at Ballo. Food was very tasty and portions were very generous. Best braciole I've had ever. Our waitor (goes by the name of Johnny G) was very attentive and friendly. Definitely would go back.

Went to Ballo and was totally disappointed...had reservations for 10 people waited 2 HOURS to be seated. 10 people standing in a totally cramped resteraunt is not my idea of a good time. Service was terrible, waiter was rude and spit when he spoke...food was mediocre for price...

I have been to ballo many of times since they opened. I can only say the food is amazing, and the help goes above and beyond what is normal to make you happy. Excellent!

I visited Ballo tonight with the intention that it was going to be a fun laid back good time. Well, the food was only okay and the service was absolutely horrific. Our waiter never looked me once in the eyes. His attention was elsewhere, mainly at the table of old rich folks next to us. He was super attentive to them, refreshing their drinks every few mintues, while my empty wine glass sat in front of me for my entire meal. I didn't realize I had to wear my paycheck on my forehead to get the same kind of respect as the other patrons. After receiving our meals, our waiter never once returned to our table to see how we were. So I timed him, and a mere 37 minutes later I got up and approached him. His excuse was that it was really busy and that I needed to be patient. I simply said get me the check and we are leaving. Not only did he charge us incorrectly -- $125 dollar bill for the actual bill which should have been $60 -- but was again super quick to disappear. For those of you who are looking for a fun place where you can expect good service, this is not it. The management was also unresponsive after my complaint. This is isn't good business, especially when I mentioned to them that I book restaurants every week for events and this will be on my DO NOT EVER BOOK list for my entire company. This restaurant won't last and I am sure River North will be happy to see it go.
