for years these two brothers have been cherging high prices for sandwiches. hello evanston. this place has been a rip off for 5 decades, the food quality is good but, the prices are not realistic.

Al's is the best lunch place in all of chicago. I'm a vegetarian and there are lots of great vegetarian sandwiches, plus all the soups are vegetarian, even traditionally meat based soups like the french onion. The soup changes daily and is made fresh every morning. Stop in for friday's leek and potato soup, or maybe you'll get lucky and they'll have the split pea soup (my favorite). The place is small and and the owners are friendly. Trust me, it will soon become your favorite sandwich place too.

There's no better place for a sandwich in Evanston. Not only is the food delicious, the owners are kind-hearted and meticulous about their product. The soups, by the way, are also the best you will find in town. Oh, and did I mention the frosted cookies? I've been eating at Al's for several years and it's like home. You won't find another place like it on the globe. A bit of a throw back in time that is absolutely sincere. Skip the chains and support these brothers whose father started the business 55 years ago. Not a loser on the menu.

THE BEST PLACE IN EVANSTON! Its so goooood! Spend your money here instead of chipotle or noodles and co., because local business needs your help with all the corporate invasion this town has experienced. besides, you can't find a better smoked turkey anywhere.
