I have to say I was kind of disappointed with this spot! I took my girl there for V-day and the whole experience was just OK at best. The appetizers (chicken lollipops & crab cakes) were pretty good but our main courses (stuffed catfish & lamb chops) were just plain old OK! We got our food in a timely manner but I have to say I like working with one server not three or four. The tables were kind of small and trying to squeeze too many into a small area (when you first walk in) made them feel even smaller. One last thing… being that this was Valentines Day they could have hires a live performer instead of just playing CDs. This wasn’t the worst I’ve had but they really need to step their game up. Maybe they should try the sports bar look instead of fine dinning!

The food is good and the ambience is nice, but it seems too "open". Its extremely loud and not cozy. The bread is absolutely unbelievable, but after the first plate (one slice for each patron) we were told that they were all out.

My visit there was pleasant and enjoyable. I had a wonderful experience with the tasteful food and the polite staff. I would love to come back anytime.

We (family of four)ate at Blu 47 this past Sunday. I'm not hating and love to support my people -BUT... The Customer Service Sucked (no, the staff didn't display attitude)but it was obvious to me that no one seemed to know what to do; especially, when they began telling us that there was no more syrup for the infamous Belgian Waffles.

GRITS - someone needs to taste before serving. I have never seen so many black folks not want the Grits.

Coffee - Keyword >> Filters... please use them, I thought my tea bag busted until i was reminded that it was Coffee...

    In a nutshell - IT's Management.

We don't mind spending $25 a meal - but please take heed to the voices of your patrons.

Check the coffee, taste the grits, order the syrup - come out to the lobby.

Prove our critique to be untrue - I only live 5 minutes away - I would love to come back.

    Tak,

I have eaten at Blu47 last Sat. and the resturant was excellent. It has a beautiful and yet relaxed setting. The staff was very polite and attentive. And I do plan on dinning there again in the near future.

I have eaten at Blu47 on Sunday for Brunch with a party of 17. The food was very tasty and filling. Seconds was a must. Our host was wonderful. I can't wait to return for Thursday's Jazz nite.

I have eaten at Blu 47 twice. Both times I enjoyed some really fine food, but both times it was colder than it should have been. My first time was with a party of 4 ... our appetizers all came at different times, as did our main course. It was well prepared, but there is nothing more frustrating than having to wait until the others at your table are served. After three of us were served at about 5-10 minute waits in between, the 4th meal did not arrive until 20 minutes after the third. Service is not their long suit, and that makes the lovely atmosphere, the good food and the pleasant clientele all the poorer.

The second time I went, hoping the first time was a fluke, I was surprised to find that service for two can be as abysmal as service for 4.

I'm sorry Blu 47, we need upscale places in the neighborhood, but until you get your wait and kitchen staff straightened up, I won't be back for food. Perhaps for drinks and music and then I'll head further north for some decent service and thus warm food.
