It was an embarassment to have brought coworkers here after tellig them that place should offer romanian food. It is an embarassment to tourists who might come to this and think this is romanian cuisine. BEWARE!!!!.... It is a shame that this is called Romanian fest.

Moved in 2006 to a much larger parking lot.
It's not a place to learn about Romanian culture or history or the diversity of food. It's not even a place to learn about the story of Romanians in America.
It's a parking lot party for Romanians and wanna-bes. Though there is roasted pig and squeezed grape juice (the beer was Polish in 2006), the high point is the great variety of music.
You'll no doubt be bored in the afternoon unless you're hanging out with a bunch of friends. Think of the "donation" as the admission to a "Roman-apalloza" and go in the early evening for a wide variety of American-based and imported Romanian music and you can't go wrong. Traditional, rock, folk and more...
Some businesses seeking to target Romanian customers have booths, but none of them are about "the old country" and are only good for a few free pens and refrigerator magnets.
However, In my case of being a firm wanne-be, I highly recommend it.
NOTICE: This is NOT the OFFICIAL Chicago's Taste of Romania website. These reviews are a forum for opinions about the venue that other Centerstage Chicago users may want to know, not to order merchandise, apply for a job, etc.
