My girlfriend and I had a horrible experience there for breakfast one morning. They had only two waitresses staffing about 30 tables. There were at least a couple of guys behind the counter who were doing nothing. There was a girl (with a bad fake bake) who was picking her nose behind the cash register. They couldn't even be bothered to help out. We had to be somewhere in an hour, and our food never got to us because we waited more than 45 minutes. They need to decide whether they want to be a breakfast place or a coffee house. I would pick breakfast place because their food is pretty good. If I want coffee, there's always Starbucks or Caribou.

Just back from the French Quarter and can say Nola's(Oak Park)has captured some of the best its down south name- sake has to offer. Tasty food, good portions reasonably priced.

I live in Oak Park, and go to Nola's on an average of 3 times a week. I don't usually do things like write reviews, but I was interested about the buzz on Nola's. After reading the review from Liz I was compelled to write my own. The food is amazing for the price. The atmosphere is, well as my wife would say "adorable". Also the owners and staff are quite pleasant. Don't get me wrong as with most cafes the majority of the staff are teenagers, and sometimes they can be a little on the space cadet side. Whoever I can truly say that I have never had a bad experience. Don't worry Nola's keep up the good work, and don't let people that obviously have no lives get you down.

I live in Chicago and make the trip to Nola's several times a month. Their homemade soups and gumbo are the best I've had, including in New Orleans. I found the service to be great. Waitress was very friendly and really helpful. I asked for kind of a special order and they had no problem doing it. Atmosphere is relaxed, fun and cheery. Great job Nola's, I'll be in soon!

Just moved to Oak Park and have been to Nola's several times already and love the "boutique" type of restaurant this is with great New Orleans flair throughout. Great coffees and food, with a nice wine selection. Always easy street parking and not a place to be missed.

Incredible place for one and all to meet and have some great food. I have eaten there for breakfast, lunch & dinner and everything has been delicious. Some of my favorites have been the way the red potatoes in the morning are prepared with rosemary and fried until they are golden brown. So Yummy!! Also the homemade soups are to die for. Some of my dinner favorites are the blackened steak special and the craw fish over a bed of white rice. Very good selection of beer & wine. The coffee & those scrumptuous little powdery sugar things are fabulous. This is much more than just a coffee joint, it is an eclectic taste of New Orleans!!

I love Nola's cup because its close to home (great location!) and an inviting atmosphere.I would frequent there if it wasn't for the speed of service. I just wish the service was faster. I have never waited so long and so many times for even a simple cup of brewed coffee I love you Nola's, just know that customers don't like to hear your personal chit chat, they want fast quality service.

WONDERFUL! I had dinner there last night and it was delicious. Fried catfish, NY Strip and crab cakes were all incredible. Server was friendly and helpful. Wine and beer selection was suprisingly plentiful. I'll be telling all my friends.

Nola's cup is great. It is my new favorite place in Oak Park. Best coffee in town. Best breakfast. Great New Orleans food. "elizabeth" is crazy I think. I go there fairly often and it has a wonderful, cozy, quiet atmosphere with pleasant help.
