I love this place. The beer bistro really is my favorite. If you haven't tried Banana Bread Beer, go in, they'll have it, along with a 1,000 other great beers. I take friends and relatives there from the suburbs. Sunday morning hang-over-custom bloody mary's. Great food and food specials. If only they had live music, hmmmmmmm.

My boyfriend and I wandered into the Beer Bistro when we attempted to attend an overcrowded party at WestEnd. We were disgruntled, starving and needed a drink and a seat. Lucky for us the BB fit the bill and more. It's got a warm feel with tons of beautiful woodwork and a great looking bar. There's a nice lounge area in the back for larger parties. But the reason you should go to BB isn't for the look - it's for the drinks and the food.
Although we first went on a Friday night, the bar was comfortably full but not crowded. The beer list is extensive, fun but still manageable. They also have unique drafts of the month for around $3.50. If the beer isn't enough of a draw, oh my God the burgers. They're amazing - juicy, decent size, tender, yum. I can't believe I'm going to advertise this but Tuesdays is their $2 burger night. Pick up a basket of their parmesan cheese dusted made in house potato chips, and you are more than set. My boyfriend and I can usually get out with a $20 tab happily full, mildly buzzed and a good time had by all. We now come down from the Northside at least once a month.
The only drawback to BB is they have an "every man for themselves" seating policy. If there's a game or concert going on at the United Center, you'll want to avoid it because it’s a bit of a mob scene. I also recommend chatting up the fellow people at the bar for who's going for what seat - it makes for interesting conversation and less seating smackdowns.

Avoid! Avoid! I live nearby the Beer Bistro and have been there dozens of times. Not once have I been offered a drink. I held a small office party there $1,200.00 tab)and was not eevn thanked. The final straw was being served a steak, by the owner, with a very long human hair..he said sorry, proceeded to charge me full and even charged me for the diet coke i orderd to wash down the hair. attached...

When we visit our son naar the Bistro, we ALWAYS stop in. In spite of being from the "older generation" we feel VERY comfortable at the bistro. Food is reasonably priced, tasty and wait staff folks, kind.

The west loop was in desperate need of this place. The service and the food are more than you could ask for. The wekkly specials are great - $2 Burgers, $2 beers, and $5 Martinis on Thursday. WOW! I love this place.

It's a fun spot, and a much needed addition to the neighborhood!

Nice place and good beer menu. But talk about sticker shock!!! a draft maredsous for $9!?!? A bottle of Piraat for 8!?!? Make sure you ask how much a beer is before you order it or you may have to take out a loan to drink here.
