after going to bamboo i gave this place a try. i liked the place outside and inside, the workers were nice, affordable drinks, good music only if the DJ played something new. i went there friday and it was not that busy but i'll try it on a saturday.

This place was "cool" for lack of a better word. There was a good mix of low-key relaxing space and a well separated dance floor for when you want to break that sweat. A very interesting interior decor for a dance club. The "upper stage" dancers were weak and the ladies a little full of themselves, only a few were hot. The drink specials were average, nothing to rave about, but all and all a good place to go if you want to hang out and have a drink with friends and possibly dance. Oh yeah, they did play more hip-hop than the Bambo Room, that was a plus.

Horrible, horrible place!I got kicked out of the place (after 6 years of going there!) because I asked a bartender (total cow, slow and with a wrong attitude) not to take an ashtray with my friend's lit cigarette away !She complained to the management that I embaressed her ! How ridiculous the situation was when out of all the punks and drunk people a sober (designated driver that night) customer was asked to leave by a very rude manager! It's nice that they care about their staff, by the club lasted so long because of the customers! Respect that, especially when a customer is really right!

This is an awesome place. The music is so diverse and the staff appear to be ontop of things most of the time. The most fascinating thing is the club's ability to provide good service even when the place is crowded. The DJ's are fun and know what makes the crowd go crazy. Most importantly - paying only $5.00 to have so much fun. I would recommend anyone who loves a fun time to try the Alumni.

I love Alumni Club. Its been one of my favorite places for years. If I don't feel like going to the city on a Saturday night, I'll go here. The environment is laid back, the staff is really nice, and you don't have to wait in ridiculous lines or pay an inflated cover. Drinks are good too, you actually get what you pay for. It gets pretty crowded, but its worth it.

Gotta say Alumni is pretty good for the suburbs. The DJ is a bit annoying, but hey, what can you do? It's the suburbs! Nah, but Alumni is a good time if you are in Shaumburg. But if you really wanna have a crazy time, you might wanna hit Bamboo Room for a better crowd.

The R&B Station will be appearing at Maggies Place in Doylestown PA. on May 3rd 2005, also at The Hines Griffin Blues Festival in Swanton on Aug. 23 .
