I was unhappy with the service. They hounded us about every two minutes, asking if we were finished with our dishes but when it was time to get our bill, they took their sweet time getting us our bill once we were finished. The staff was snooty from the hostess to the waiter. Despite the original reviewers claim that nothing is over $12, there are several dishes that rise above that price. I don't recommend this restaurant.

the place is hopping. The place is packed. Energetic! Great...but that's where it stops. Tapas...? Sure if you could get someone to wait on ordinary you. If you are not beautiful, don't bother. bartender is a jerk! met the owner...who is also full of himself and was rude. Disappointed....Cafe Iberico has to be the only BEST TAPAS in town.

The place to go on Thursdays! They have live jazz (no cover) every Thursday. Great wine selection and the best tapas in Chicagoland... We also received complimentary dessert for my girlfriend's birthday. Service was top notch.

Went there last Monday. It was the best tapas experience I had in Chicago! Live Spanish guitar, $10 Sangria Pitchers for myself and 4 friends...will be back next Monday again. Skirtsteak and halibut are highly recommended...

I agree with the original reviewer of this place. People Lounge indeed knows what Chicagoans want (at least some of them): a faux Spanish tapas bar where they can have a drink and pay for overpriced unimpressive Iberian classics.
To its credit, the food I had was probably excellent, when it was originally made, hours before I ate it. It tasted reheated. Along with the uneven service (the bartender who waited on me could not be bothered to get off his cell phone even when the kitchen announced my dish was ready to be served), it's hard to not long for Cafe Ibérico.
My advice: go here when it's busy. With the drunken yuppies who will constantly fork out cash for tapas and booze, at least your food will be fresh. Probably.
