We went there on a Saturday night & the front desk claimed that there would be 1/2 hour wait & gave us some sort of a pager when we would be called. One hour later we had to ask the bartender to please check on when our number would be called. Apprently there was some sort of a screw up. We finally got to our table & the server & food were outstanding. I would rate the Hostess or person who calls the patrons according to their number an F but the Food & waiter deserved an A.

As another person said, I don't believe some of these reviews. We've been to Jimmy's numerous times and the food has always been great. Service has been fantastic to good. Of course like anything some servers are better than others, but we have never been treated rudely - NEVER! Have gone there in large group, had the servers 4 different credit cards and said split evenly please - not a problem - none - came back with four receipts and even told two of us that we were the winners to have the extra 1 cent on our bill. Couldn't have been nicer! So, not sure what the problem was, but I've never seen it, always treated well, always good food - get the BBQ WoodRoasted Chicken all white meat - OUTSTANDING!

3 friends and I ate at Jimmy's just last Sat. night. 1 had the walleye special, baked with a brouschetta sauce and thought it was delicious. Another had the rib eye steak, it was done to perfection and my other friend and I had the top sirlion steak special, both our steaks were done exactly to order, were tender and juicy, all meals came with either baked, mashed, garlic mashed or rice pilaf, I had the ricem it was quite tasty. Everyone got salad that was nice and fresh. The service was great, the ambience was friendly and very conversation oriented. All in all I really enjoyed our meal at Jimmy's.

my husband and I are visiting and have been here twice in a week for dinner! The service and the food was excellent! I don't know what these other people are talking about when they are talking about bad service. I worked as a server for 5+ years and am very aware of good service and this is the place to get it-- and great and fairly inexpensive dinner! Gus, the manager was very nice both nights!

I went there on my anniversary with my boyfriend. Both him and I work as servers at other restaurants so it can get pretty interesting seeing how other places run their place of work! Not only were the managers RUDE but it rubbed off onto their servers. Our server get reprimanded right in front of us it was unbelievable! I could not believe how this place runs its business! The food was good, however I will not be coming back!

HORRIBLE service. Wait staff was very rude and so were the managers. You would think coming to an "upscale" restaurant you would be treated with more respect. Apparently not.

I am visiting the Chicago area for work and visited the Elgin location three times in 9 days. We visited the Elgin location on a recommendation and received excellent service and the food was good...the first two times. On our 3rd visit we were treated by sub-standard service. The food was OK this time but the waitress was very unprofessional and rude. She all but demanded a tip (exceeding her service level) and made her point in a very rude manner. She actually returned my receipt, which I needed for reimbursement, slammed it on the table and stated my change and her tip. Her attitude was not representative of anyone that should be in any type of customer service. Upon leaving I requested to speak with the manager. He approached, I explained the transgression of events to which he proceeded to offer a slight apology and then defended her rudeness. He was not rude, but not understanding and came off very snide. The manager and waitress offended our entire group of 7 and we vowed to not visit "Jimmy's" again. By the way, we are returning to the Chicago area over the next few weeks no less than 42 days total. It will be a pleasure to visit the other restaurants that provided us with excellent service...Houlihan's, Emmett's and The Barley House just to name a few. Very disappointing.

Terrible! Took at least an hour to even get our food. I ordered a steak med-well, and it came out well done and very dry. When I sent it back, I got a steak that was rare and blood red. They can't even cook a steak. I will never go to Jimmy's again!

I love Jimmy's. Food is very good and plenty of it. Favorite meal is combo wood roasted chicken and BBRibs. I have booked work holiday partys and service was fantastic. I would definately recommend this restaurant. Best ever!!
