Tony Adamo’s STRAIGHT UP DEAL CD gets 5 STARS Franki LaMantia Marketing/UrbanZone Records
The world’s #1 on-line Smooth Jazz destination has given Tony Adamo’s new CD, STRAIGHT UP DEAL a five star rating. Sandy Shore, president and founder of Smoothjazz.com says the following about Adamo’s CD: “There’s a mystique to the San Francisco bay area at night that’s unique to the City by the Bay. Over the years many artists have captured this vibrant, earthy electricity and stuck it in the middle of their music…Santana, Jefferson Airplane/Starship, Tower of Power come to mind and a whole handful of jazz greats. Bay Area singer/songwriter, Tony Adamo fits perfectly into this fry with his deep, sultry, commanding voice and grasp for groove. Think Lou Reed but funkified.”
You can find Sandy’s review on Itunes and you can dig Tony’s music at the Listening Loft at Smoothjazz.com.

Herbie Hancock and the Headhunter's legendary bass player Paul Jackson (aka P Jack) returns to the scene with a new solo release entitled "Funk On A Stick" on BackDoor Records (catalog #BD1041). With an allstar cast Paul Jackson has once again contributed to his legacy of being one of the most influential musicians of our time. The track "Funky Fingers" featuring Jackson on bass and vocals, Mike Clark on drums, percussionist Bill Summers, jazz keyboard extraordinaire Herbie Hancock and Jerry Stucker on guitar takes you back to the original Headhunters and is as funky as it gets. Herbie is playing electric piano and clavinet and hasn't lost his funk edge. In recent years a few great keyboard players have filled the keyboard position with the Headhunters but it is always refreshing to hear the where it all came from and this track is it. The rest of the cuts are equally as strong and featuring other greats. One such track is "Hey Lou" that features an allstar line up including the world-renowned sax player Ernie Watts. The title track is "Funk On A Stick" where P Jack displays his powerful vocal chops. This cut is destined for radio. www.pauljackson.jp

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Tony Adamo at Capitol Records Urbanzone Productions
Singer/songwriter Tony Adamo and his producer Jerry Stucker were recently at Capitol Studios (Capitol Records) Hollywood, CA with Al Schmitt (legendary recording engineer) mixing Adamo’s new CD. Al Schmitt has worked with the most influential voices in American Pop and Jazz(winner of 12 Grammy's) for over forty years, from Sinatra and Ellington to more recently Diana Krall and Natalie Cole. Adamo’s new CD (to be released in early 2005) will be a collection of jazz standards as well as some pop gems turned into nu-jazz. Jerry Stucker’s music arrangements for these cuts are very hip and smooth. Included are War’s “The Ghetto,” the classic Grover Washington Jr.’s tune “Winelight” with lyrics by Kurt Elling and Adamo’s rendition of Cannonball Adderly’s funky jazz tune, “Mercy, Mercy, Mercy.” For more information on this rising new artist, go to www.jazznow.com

Review: Tony Adamo is a gifted jazz vocalist/songwriter, and his new CD release, DANCE OF LOVE, is a big winner in the smooth jazz and jazz vocals category. A wide listening audience of the jazz community will find these collections of original material both entertaining and enjoyable.
Tony Adamo has a fine singing voice, and at times, he sounds like British singer, David Bowie. Tony Adamo is the David Bowie of the smooth jazz set, and Adamo has quite the unique voice.
There are 12 selections on DANCE OF LOVE. Some of the songs include ’Ecstasy,’ ‘Hey Lou,’ ‘Rhythm Of Your Love,’ ‘When Love Comes Over You,’ ‘Live For Your Love,’ ‘Real Life,’ among others.
A nice change of pace is in store for the jazz listening audience with Tony Adamo's fine singing. DANCE OF LOVE is excellent entertainment.
Musicians: Tony Adamo, lead vocals, songwriter and executive producer. Jerry Stucker, guitar and musical producer. Ernie Watts, saxophone. Rodney Franklin, piano. 'Doc' Kupka, baritone saxophone.
