Cocula is an unforgetable place for me. My politician boyfriend from Mexico brought me to this restaurant during our first date. It was a personal-business date all in one ha! ha!. The food was good especially the shrimps or I should say prawns. The baby octupos was yummy as well.My discriminating taste when it comes to food was satisfied. My experience was fun , I enjoyed the "Mariachi"band. The restaurant was designed properly.I like the tables and chairs; comfortable to use for dining. The food was fresh. The servers were polite and fast. Food keeps culture together and I am happy at Mexicans here in Illinois are united.I love Mexico and their people.Love your culture. Thanks to our friend Jaime who drove us that day and night and introducing us to this good restaurant. Gracias! Go and try to experience a good place , delicious food, and warm place to dine in.Taste the food at Cocula.

Before tonight I thought the world of Cocula's. I drove from 68th and Wolcott over to Cocula's on 52th and Pulaski and was totally disappointed. I placed an order and waited patiently for it, anticipating how delicious it would be and was completely let down. I got al the way back home and the entire order was wrong. I was charged for things that were not even in the bag, there were ingredients missing and was told I could drive all the way back across town to have them correct it or to have my money returned. I paid by credit card. Which to me means the charges should have been able to be reversed without me coming back out and wasting gas. The order was quite detailed an correct on the receipt. The only thing done properly were the lemonaids. I do not recommend Cocula's to anyone who doesn't want to have to be let down. There was no attention to detail and the customer service was horrible.

Cocula is a wonderful authentic Mexican restaurant, with emphasis on authentic. All their food is delicious but my favorite is the Carne Asada a la Tampiquena and you can't go wrong with a pitcher of margaritas.

I was there on Monday and was I EVER DISAPPOINTED. We had pork which was so dry, you would have thought it was from the first pig slaughtered. The guacamole was ok as an appetizer, but good thing we filled up on that cuz the taco and burritos we ordered were horrible.

NO RECOMMENDATION HERE..go down the street to DON PEDRO'S.Haven't had a bad meal there in 10 years.

I've been going to Cocula's Mexican Restaurant since I was 14yrs old and I'm 43 now. Wow! I can't believe I've been eating at Cocula's for 29 years! My mom still lives in South Chicago where we all still go to the Cocula's on 89th and Commercial. My Mother will be 60 on 12/24 and she wants to go to Cocula's for her birthday this year!

This used to be my favorite restaurant until today. I have always wondered if restaurants throw the left over chips and salsa out after people were done eating and today my question was answered :-( Cocula recycles the chips and they probably recycle the salsa too! So before you dip your chip in the salsa, just know that some stranger was probably double dipping in that same exact salsa too. I found a couple of chips that were bit off of and had salsa on the end of them as if someone dipped there chip and decided not to eat the rest of it. Gross!!!!! I loved their food up until now. That is just nasty, nasty, nasty!!! I probably ate plenty of their chips before with someone elses saliva on them. Oh, yeah, when I brought it to one of the guys attention their mouth just dropped as if they did not know that they recycle. I think they were surprised that they got caught. I will never eat chips and salsa from any restaurant again. I will be making my own at home.

Cocula has been my favorite restaruant for 20 years. I used to eat at the one on Cermak/Cal. but fortunately they opened 1 up right by my house on 52nd/Pulaski. You can't go wrong with what you order on the menue cause everything is simply delicious. My favorite is the fish ceviche!!! There chilequiles and there Tampiquena is to die for. Yep, Cocula restaraunt has the best Mexican food and best fast service. In addition, I really love there new seats in the booths. I don't sink into them anymore. lol.........Good work Cocula!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the scrumtious food.
