This is a terrible theater, which is a shame because it has so much potential. They often can't get their act together to get movie listings in the Reader. The employees are surly and incredibly inefficient, probably because they are so understaffed. The management of this theater should be ashamed of how they run this place. I live nearby and I now drive to much further theaters just to avoid the frustrations of trying to see a movie at this disaster.
Leave yourself plenty of time to stand in long lines and buy tickets from people who are NOT happy to see you. Then, if you’re going to the art-house side stand back and marvel at how the guy/gal getting your popcorn and drink must walk back and forth from behind the counter to the register on the opposite side to fill your order.
Then once the movie starts, pray it doesn’t take them too long to fix the focus.

This is the best cinema in the Chicago area! It actually serves Kettle Corn which you rarely find in the movies. There are always plenty of good shows at numerous times throughout the day. I also love the student discounts and free validated parking. This is a great place to take a date, especially with Buffalo Joe's right around the corner. The only drawback is that it can get overrun with high schoolers on the weekend. A bit of advice, if you are going to see a new release get there early because seats are a premium.
