From the outside, this Japanese restaurant looks like a hole in the wall. Located right next to a construction site, the exterior is pale and uninviting. But don’t let the façade fool you – the moment you enter, you are greeted by enthusiastic shouts of “Simimatse”. There is limited seating in the front, with only two booths (that seat four), and about 12 seats around a sushi bar. But there is extra seating round the back. When you sit down, they provide you hot moist napkins to freshen up (just don’t follow the Ojisans who use it to wipe their face and neck). The best thing about the restaurant is the authentic food they serve. There are several traditional dishes including Natto (fermented soy beans) and each dinner entrée is accompanied by three types of salad: Japanese crabmeat salad, raw cabbage with tonkatsu sauce, and a jellyfish/seaweed salad. They even serve complimentary hot green tea at the end of the meal to help you digest your food. There are many Japanese customers that patronize this establishment, and the sushi chef and all the servers speak Japanese. However, prices are not “dirt-cheap” like you expect in a hole-in-the-wall establishment. Final verdict: If you’re used to authentic Japanese cuisine and want some comfort food, this is the place to go. However, don’t attempt to impress a first date here.

Don't recommend it. After a sushi dinner at this restaurant, I had a terrible stomach ache for the rest of the night due to the lack of fresh fish.
