State was once a great place. Too bad they changed. I wish there was a way to give them a half star on CitySearch. Since getting their liquor license, State has greatly scaled back and changed their menu. The menu used to have many choices but now the choices are limited to burgers, 4 salads and a few boring sandwiches. All of the food is over priced for what you receive. (Burgers range from $7.75 for a plain cheeseburger without toppings to $14 for more deluxe burgers.) The service is slow and our server was clueless. When we ate there, it was lunch time and there were 6 other people in the entire place. While there 2 of the six people left after ordering but before eating as the service was SO slow. Our order arrived incorrect and took almost 40 minutes (we only ordered burgers). We had to wait then for them to correct our order and then had to flag down a server to request refills on our drinks. After giving the waitress our bill, we had to flag down another server to find out why it was taking 25 minutes to process the bill. Lunch took us over 1.5 hours! We were never offered an explanation for the delay or poor service and we were not given anything for our order being totally incorrect. I am sorry to say this once great place has become nothing more than a mediocre bar. I was so disappointed with this restaurant and will never dine there again!

I do not understand these upset people. My girlfriend and our friends had a wonderful experience at STATE. Our server was so friendly and patiend with us and our menu questions. Durind our stay, two managers came up and introduced themselves(Peter and Ian). Wonderful atmosphere and great people made this a A+ experience.

Horrible experience! The manager (Peter) seated the 3 parties that came in after us BEFORE he seated us and we had been waiting for 40 minutes at that point! When we questioned him, he said "Obiously, this isn't the place for you. I think you should leave," and stormed away. No apology, no nothing. This place has so much potential it's unfortunate the staff is so incompetent.

this is such an awesome place! the high-tech theme is so innovative, but more importantly, the food is delicious! the staff couldn't have been nicer... i will definitely be going back!

Food's terrific, much more consistent whan when they first opened. George, the manager, recognized me when I came back again. BYOB for now because the neighbors are being cranky about another bar in the area. The place has a cool vibe and design, without any attitude. This is my new neighborhood regular place.

GETTING BETTER...I enjoyed my meal there and loved the versatility of the restaurant (cafe, trendy dining, sports bar). It's also great for people who like to surf the net with a little more space and a lot better food. Service seems to be in a growing phase, but the restaurant is fairly new, so it should get better.

Awful! No acknowledgement when we walked in. The manager even seated the people who came is after us, completely overlooking the two of us standing there waiting to be seated. Immature waitstaff, okay food. Very disappointed in the manager, he can't even dress appropriately. This place has so much potential... just poorly executed!

Talk about a place that has it all! Great atmosphere to say the least, great food, and everything you need to keep you there all day! (my friends and I stayed for almost 4 hours!) We'll definitely be back.
