Very Disappointed says: On Tuesday 2/27/07 10:35 PM
We got the menu in our mail box a few days ago and were excited to try the place. We ordered delivery--the food was probably the worst restaurant food I've ever had. We ordered the shrimp Pad Thai and a Garlic Supreme. The thai dish was sickenly sweet, the sauce was blended unevenly, some noodles were orange while others were white. The beef in the Garlic Supreme was like jerky. Not only was it over-cooked, it was dry and crusty even though it was soaking in a greasy overly sweet sauce. Everything went into the garbage can, including the free egg rolls. Judging from the above good reviews, the only explanation for the poor food is that the regular chef must've been off today!! It's a shame, this place is very close to where we live and we would've loved to have found a nearby regular place to eat.

I LOVE Blue Elephant. The service is incredible-Every time I go in, I am greeted with a smile and a true desire to please. The food kicks butt- a little light tasting for thai food, and a wonderfully delicious way. The creamy house dressing is heaven.

Blue Elephant is one of my favorite spots in Roger's park. It is a VERY small restaurant with a modernist blue aesthetic. All of the cooking takes place in clear view of the register, so you can see how fresh your meals are being made! My favorite item on the menu is a Rama Tofu with Spinach noodles. It is entirely unique, and the spinach noodles and peanut sauce go really well together. The service is very friendly. The only drawback to the restaurant is that there are a lot of carryout patrons waiting at the front, so that for such a small restaurant it can feel very crowded with people waiting for their carry-out meals. If you do want to do carry-out (they also deliver) there's plenty of magazines to read while you wait.
NOTICE: This is NOT the OFFICIAL Blue Elephant website. These reviews are a forum for opinions about the venue that other Centerstage Chicago users may want to know, not to order merchandise, apply for a job, etc.
