long lines for beer. you could wait 30 minutes in "line" and not even be served. they need more beer taps and better help in serving the beer.

This is a great time for everyone! YES it will get crowded, that's because so many people want to be there! Dancing, german beer and live music, bratwurst...what more can you want? Just take the Brown Line to Western Avenue, it is pretty much right there, you can't miss it.

I attended the fest in 2007 while I still lived in Chicago and had a great time. It was crowded (we attended on Saturday after hitting the Turkish Fest at Daley Center)and.. well.. for lack of a better word -- festive! People were having a great time, we didn't run into any obnoxious drunks (and hope we didn't turn into them, too!). The food was spectacular, the servers were friendly and the beer was delicious. I expected long waits but the lines really weren't out of control at all. The music was the cherry on top of the atmosphere sundae... I'm planning to make the trip from Wisconsin this year just for the fest.

I have attended Lincoln Square's Oktoberfest many times and always had a great time. I figured Mayfest would be equally as fun. However, 45+ minute waits for beer and overflowing (literally) portable toilets made for a bad overall experience. I'm not sure if the organizers hadn't expected the huge turnout or if it was just poor planning.
