We have brought clients in and every time they leave very happy and warm. The food is an escape from the fast food into something nice prepared by a gourmet chef and the staff is friendly.

We stopped in for dinner while visiting from Scotts Valley CA. What a wonderful meal we had. The lamb roast was wonderful as well as the desserts we shared after with our coffee. We will be going to Greece in April 2007 and look forward to more wonderful food.

Place was packed on friday night,but we get a table with no waiting time.Beautiful hostess seated us up and friendly server with slight accent aproached shortly.Chef had 5 different specials that nite,we started with order of arancini spinach and delicious tuscan mussles sauted with italian sausage...after that we shared the Insalata Provinciale - baby spinach salad with apples and pine nuts and onions as well with special secret house dressing..I had one of the special - nice surf & turf made of beef tenderloin and jumbo golf shrimp with green beans and potatoes and my girlfriend ordered papardelle - pasta in creamy white sauce with smoked bacon,mushrooms,peas and diced tomatoes..We shared this entrees and pasta was the best one I had in my life in any restaurant ever..Steak was so tender,i requested medium rare to medium and that's exactly what I got.For dessert we had some tiramisu - server explained us that that was rank among 3 best in Chicago in Chicago Sun Times in september - true,a reward from Sun Times is hanging on the wall with Zagat guide book for 2007..And Sun times did not lie..Full bar is available and wine list is excellent if U like wine - selected reds and whites - domestic and italian.Price range is moderate so if U are looking for good food and a nice place with decent prices to bring a date,have your bussines lunch or dinner or just stob by to eat Trattoria 31 is just the place for it!
