Calimari---way too bready and heavy, sauce just garlic mayo Mushroom Purse---YUM! beaugiful Salmon dish--- salmon fresh and juicy, sag paneer gorgeous, lentil cake, cardboard Scallops---Unfresh, inedible.
They were out of chicken tikka, the dish I came in to try. They were also out of every single dessert! On a saturday night at 5pm!
Why I will never go back again----the waitress never returned untill about 15 minutes after dropping off the entrees. When we told her the scallops were unfresh (I had to spit it out!) She got flustered and said she'd check wtih the kitchen. No one apologized, no manager came to the table, we were not offered a substitution, a dessert to make up for it nor was there a price adjustment on the bill. This tells me they don't care what the customers think and don't even care if we get sick from seafood that has turned. If I were the owner, I would NEVER want someone to be served off-seafood, then be forced to pay for it! Wake up, Treat!

The staff here is rude and racist. Eat here if you support this behavior, but if you don't, find someplace else to eat. There are plenty of good restaurants in Chicago.
My husband and I went to eat here for dinner. When we walked in at 6 pm and said we didn’t have reservations, we were immediately told "you're going to have a long wait" in a rude and ugly tone. When we questioned this because there were only two people eating, the staff girl (short and fat with glasses) had us wait 8 minutes and told us she couldn't seat us because they had 6 reservations at 6:30 and more coming in at 7 pm. They still had tables available to seat us since we arrived 30 minutes before their reservations. When I asked for her name, she told me "I'm through with you, goodbye! We eat out often and I have NEVER encountered service this rude. I went back to speak to the owner who said he’d speak to her, didn't want to embarrass his staff in front of people. Fine, but is it okay to be rude to potential customers? I will never eat here and believe we were treated poorly because we're black. I say this not only because of the rude words, but the tone in which they were spewing from her mouth. The staff here is rude and racist.

This place is amazing, killer food, cozy place, Tamiz the chef/owner is the best. Troy our server was fun!

I am also Latina. However, I arrived there with a friend and was greeted promptly. The owner was friendly and checked in on us. The service was fast and friendly. The food was outstanding, fresh and healthy. The best part was the price. Where else can you get a a really good meal for 4.95?

I've lived in Humboldt Park for many years now. I realize the need to revive a neighborhood - Treat does add a nice touch to Humboldt Park. The staff was not as welcoming as I'd hope they would be. I think I was the only Latina there and much better service was given to anglo customers. This was pretty sad considering the fact that Treat now belongs to a neighborhood that "I" have been a part of for many years. I don't mean to rain on their parade - the food is great!
