My wife and I along with another couple enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The service was excellent and the food was great. When we finished my wife told the owner, "I felt like I was eating at your home!" An enjoyable and wonderful evening. Highly recommended.

The food was acceptable, but nothing spectacular. Quite pricey, and we were seated in the outdoor(!) area although it's November and in the 30s! They had heat lamps out there, but I was cold through most of the meal. We got there at about 6:45 pm on a Friday and the place already was full. We had 2 appetizers and a salad and my husband had a main course while I did not and our bill was almost $70 with one $9 glass of young wine. This may be a neighborhood favorite, but I think the food at Pizza D.O.C. or Bocca dela Verita is better for the steep price.

Heard great things about this place. Went last week with friends and really enjoyed it. Great food! loved the mussels and grilled octopus.

Pasta dish with cream sauce and sausage (can't remember the name) was superb.

    We will be back!!

Arrived early (6pm) on a warm night to enjoy the outdoor Patio (told on phone patio is not reserv.). Very pleasant and romantic atomsphere outside. Initially Server was friendly and talkative, but perhaps because it got busier she seemed to grow indifferent (especially after we declined desert?). We did, however, Order 3 appetizers -- Muscles in Wine Sauce: tasty sauce and tons of Garlic, but some of the Mussels tasted less than fresh. Grilled Baby Octupus: Fantastic presentation, very fresh, best I've had. Tomato & Mozzarella Salad w/basil: Light, fresh & delicious as expected. For Entrees - Tortellini w/ proscuito, peas & mushrooms in a cream sauce: filling of course, but loved it. Riggatoni w/ Artichoke, Tomato, Olives & Onions -- not so good, sauce too astringent, too many onions, and only sparse artichokes. House Sicilian White Wine was really nice. All-in-all, a pleasant albeit not spectacular experience.

    Went to Fiorentino's on a friend's recommendation.

Great food, great atmosphere! I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves simple charm and casual elegance. Best Italian food I've had since we went to Italy 12 years ago!

Decent food, not great just decent, service was bad, waiter kept forgetting everything we requested (beer, open beer, xtra napkin, sugar) only thing they were on time with was the bill, food was kind of bland, portions were what you'd expect at a italian restaurant (big) but other then that nothing to write home about, or no plans on returning.

WOW!! We have been several times and each time is a special treat! The food is so fresh and the portions are huge. I always take home a doggy bag. I've told all my friends from work. So many have gone and told me they love it. It's the best Italian they've ever had. They even drive 45 minutes to get there. Some of them have even had parties catered and tell me it's wonderful. I can't wait to go back again.

this place does not live up to the hype in these reviews, the food and service were barely a 5 on a 1-10 scale, nothing memorable except the bill, everything alla carte, pricey to begin with, but extra for our soup or salad? and the pasta dish we had was over cooked, bread was good at the begining but our trip tanked from there.

The best Italian restaurant in Chicago. Rivals th emany restaurants I have had the good fortune to sample throughout Italy. Do not miss a great dining experience as well. The owner is fabulous!
