I was a little wary going to The Spot and quite confused about going upstairs or downstairs. The doormen were very helpful and friendly. I ended up attending the Improv upstairs and it was a great show. But even more enjoyable than that was after the Improv ended and some of the cast members stuck around and mingled. I was laughing so hard at times that I had tears.
I especially love this place because every employee that I met asked my name and remembered it. It was my first time there and they made me feel like I have been going there for ages!

We went to the Spot on Sunday, 8/19, and really enjoyed it! The food was very good with a great presentation. Not knowing a thing about the place (I just moved in down the street from it), we we pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and the service.
It really seemed our server was bending over backwards to accomodate everyone in the restaurant, which was great! The only problem was that that if you want to give that level of service, you may want to have an extra floating server on hand as we had to wait several minutes at times for refills, etc.
The music selection was fun, comtemporary and at a respectible level. The restaurant was only half full when we went, and we were able to hold our own converstaion at a normal talking level without interupting or hearing other conversations.
We did not get to check out the two other floors, but we will definitely be back to take a look.
If you are at all curious, try it out on a Sunday evening. You really can't beat this great food at half price!

For those that are social, The Spot is the bar for you. The best part of coming here is the staff and the owners. When you walk in, you become the most important person in the room. You ask and you shall receive. Your drink is never empty and the food is delicious. They have something different going on each night of the week. In my opinion, you really don't need to go anywhere else.

This place is good. The best part was the birthday party I attended. We got in and recieved a wristband for the hour of free drinks, which was part of us going there. The drinks were poured heavy! Which I like. Anyway the music rocks and the food below average. Our pizza was burnt and the salad was wilted with a rotten strawberry on top. Maybe just a bad night. Anyway give it a shot. Don't forget to get on there list thats how you win a free drink party. Think about it. Where can you go and drink free for n hour. I give them a 7 out of a ten. Food 4.Oh yea the have 2 rockin floors and each room is different.

This place COULD be pretty cool if they stopped doing the following:
- trying to get customers to fill out surveys/ sign up for email lists - trying to up-sell everything - trying to pitch over priced corny events they are throwing
When I go to a bar, I want to be left alone for the most part and hang out with my friends. What makes me want to come back to a place is when the staff is chill and fun. Not when they are all trained sales people.

This place rocks. Frankie and his new teem raised the "bar" (so to speak) for all to follow. Frankie's new teem is the secret. You do not visit The Spot, you become the Spot. Once inside you become what the Spot is all about, it's about you and Brian makes sure of that. After 30 minutes at the spot you would swear eveyone at the Spot has the same blood type.
This is the type of Chicago resturant that set Chicago apart form all other cities of it's size. This is Chicago at its finest. The food... will you better come hungry because stopping is a challange.
If your not looking for a favorite "Spot", proceed with caution, this place will get you.

Like the bar well enough, food is good, the staff is super friendly - and they encourage you to order lots of shots - sounds pretty good. But my it turns out the staff is often times pouring for themselves and putting it on your bill. I'm all for buying the staff a round from time to time, but I hold my liquor better than the average bear. Shifty service = bad service. And pipe down with the damn surveys.

If you're looking for customer service unlike no other, a menu with food that you'll not find anywhere else (just ask them about their potato skins!!), then this is THE SPOT TO BE!
Chef Frankie is a gem. His food is stellar, and they make you feel like home. You won't find anyone, even the doorman, with an attitude. You will find every employee helping each other, talking to each other. You will love this place... Not like, not enjoy, LOVE.
They have incredible specials, fun things to do each night of the week.
Wanna learn more? Just stop by and tell them you want a tour of the place. They will roll out the red carpet for you and show you around....
Oh, the food? Spectacular. I've never seen salmon prepared so many ways. YOWZA!!"

We had a great experience at The Spot hosting a fund raiser for 20% Theatre Company. All of the staff was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. I would recommend The Spot for any gathering or just to grab a drink.

I've throw both of my Bears play off game parties at the Spot. The people there made you feel like you were right at home watching the game with a few of your buddies.. The crowed at the Spot almost made you feel like you were at the GAME, minus the snow.. The food was great and the service was outstanding. It was the best place for us to be to watch DA BEARS in this Years playoff….. They had two big screen projections showing the game. So no matter where you were seating you had a great view. The service was good and they kept the drinks and foods coming. And believe me we drank allot of beers and ate allot of wings.. Will with a Liquor package of $25 for the whole game who wouldn’t. Brian “the co-owner” and his staffs did a great job and I would recommend this place for anyone hosting any special event or just would like to have dinner at a friendly neighbor hood bar and grill….
