Seven Bridges Golf Club Review
Seven bridges was a fun and challenging course. One of the best I have played in the Chicagoland area. It was a reasonable rate and the course was in great condition. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also, they had a nice outdoor bar and grill to sit out at and get a few drinks after our round. Overall, it was a great experience I recommend.

Shepherd's Crook Review
Our league had set up their outing in September on this course so I made a reservation to get some experience in playing it. The minute I walked around the clubhouse and saw the layout my jaw just dropped. I've played some nice (and expensive) courses over the years but just viewing this layout was a pleasant surprise. Since I was by myself they paired me with three Illinois golfers who were of a similar level (probably by accident). Nice guys. No Wisconsin/Illinois friction here! The course is tough if you aren't hitting accurately but very fair if you are. I had an off day but a wonderful day. Fairways where you can take a divot and not hardly feel it. Greens nice and face and challenging. And a little water thrown in here and there to make it all interesting. I've already made reservations for this weekend to show my brother what he's missing in central Wisconsin. I live only 40 minutes north and can't believe I've never played this before. This is one of the best golfing bargains in the Midwest!

Bonnie Dundee Golf Club Review
This course is a great value for the money. Extensive work has been done over the last five years and the conditions have been improving each year. I have not found a better value in the area.

They renovated their bunkers and they look great. I played there this fall for a discount which they ran most of the fall. I joined there e-mail club on the web site to get 2 for 1 coupons.

Thunderhawk Golf Club Review
Great course layout. Played 10/19 for $49. Very challenging from the tips, but fair. Greens had been treated for the season, but were still cut short for good speed. Pace of play was slow 5 hrs on a Sunday. I look forward to a return there next season.

Poplar Creek Review
Cource service was awful, no discount during cource maintenace (most of the area was in maintenance or construction even bulldozer was sitting near to Green who can you paly with that!!) and there were not nay notice. Compared to it's fee I will not reccomend this cource to anyone. I will never go back unless they change thir policy.

River Bend Review
This is the toughest 9 holer you will find. The protected wetlands want to reach out and forever entomb your ball. Great new clubhouse with great staff. Not for the novice..please go somewhere else and practice you dubs and shanks.

Manteno Review
Manteno is one of my favorite course for the money. And, the condition of the course has improved tremendously in recent years.

I think the course is in very good condition. It's forgiving for the most part, but offers some good challenges. I've found the weather conditions to be windy most of the time. That's probably why their restaurant is called the Windy Plains Restaurant.

You can't beat if for $16 on weekdays and $16 on weekends after 11 am.

Pheasant Valley Review
I/ve played this course since it opened, probably in 1966. It still remains one of the best bargains ever. Some of the par 4's are awesome, and the course record is held by Tom Watson! Play the back tees, and you'll proably use every club in your bag by the end of the round.

Schaumburg Golf Club Review
A great course and very reasonably priced for non-resident play. Better than many private clubs and the pace of play was very nice (3:30 for 18 holes) I will be back to play as often as I get to Chicago

Maple Meadows Review
One friend says it starts out with the toughest 7 consecutive holes he's played. There's a 468 yard par 4 with a tree between you and the green on your approach shot. Don't try it if there are courses too hard for you. This is one of them. Not very scenic either, just punishing golf.

Thunderhawk Golf Club Review
Frankly, the course was great. However, if I'm going to pay 100 bucks for an afternoon's worth of enjoyment, having a angry old man, by the name of Mike, basically yell at our group before leaving the first tee. Later on, "Starter Mike" reprimanded us for slow play (we waited for every shot) because we had stopped to get food from the cart girl.

Sorry, but I am not going to pay that kind of cash only to be treated like crap by the staff.

2 blocks from my home. I do not play there as much anymore. Too many slow players. Almost always waiting. Rangers do not enforce pace. Or divot repair. It is still well maintained and fun to play.

Lake Bluff Golf Club Review
The new layout since last year is terrible. You have a choice of either walking the cart path to hole number 10, which is way out of the way, or crossing number 9 fairway right at the landing zone from the tee. Number 17 leads away from the clubhouse resulting in a long walk to get to the 18 tee box.

Broken Arrow Golf Club Review
Choice of 3 courses makes it nice and they are all challenging. Course makes keeping the ball in play off the tee very important. Driving range is bent-grass which is very rare and a pleasure to hit from.

Lake Bluff Golf Club Review
Went from one the best condition public golf course greems on the North Shore to one of the worst greens of any golf course. The addition of a driving range has ruined a wonderful par 4 9th hole. The new 9th hole is not well thought out. The hubris of the board members of Lake Bluff has driven away most of the better players to other golf courses. 30 years of a fine "track" destroyed by uninformed golf managers. Too bad to see a fine course killed.

Zigfield Troy Review
This is a good par three golf course, it is the type of course for people who are learning to golf should play. It is also good for golfers who want to improve their game.
