Located between two churches, this cafe warms up to the Christian-minded, but you won't be asked to recite the "Holy Mary" at the door, or asked to join the faith; Ark Cafe welcomes everyone. The place is certainly large enough, including two rooms and a Treasure shop, where you can buy yourself a new rosary or icon to go along with your coffee.
The large space is made to feel homey with lots of wood, comfy chairs, tables (some of which are for sale on the premises) and a large fireplace at the center that is kept lit even on the warmest days. Normally, the waitress will bring your coffee and you can settle the bill after everything is done. If you're hungry, add on dishes like the Eden Salad (mixed greens, cranberries, walnuts with orange balsamic vinaigrette and chicken breast for $14) or a caprese panini ($7) from the biblically themed menu (section titles include "Breaking-the-Fast" and "This One's Hot, but Not as Hot as Hell"). The Mount of Olives cheese platter (assorted olives, pickled eggplant, salami, grapes and nuts with bread, $25) makes a good choice for a large group; for a really large party, consider renting out the Ark. In the future, you can look forward to some wine tastings and other events.
